Abstract/Summary:
The interaction between human activities and the geographical environment is an important field of geography research.China actively advocates the concept of ecological priority and green development,and has put forward the goal of building a beautiful China,which is a specific practice form to alleviate the contradictions between human activities and the geographical environment under new circumstances.Since the reform and opening up,Jilin Province,as an old industrial base,has relatively severe ecological environment problems caused by extensive resource development and economic development models,which have intensified the contradictions between human activities and the geographical environment.Especially with the proposal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets,Jilin Province is facing greater pressure to reduce carbon emissions.In the face of the more complex contradictions between human and geographical factors under the new situation,as well as the practical needs of national territorial spatial planning and governance,it is necessary to carry out a evaluation of the beautiful China construction in Jilin Province that conforms to local characteristics.Therefore,from the perspective of geography,based on the theories of regional system of human-environmental relations,sustainable development,and coupled coordination,Based on the logical thread of "theoretical framework construction-comprehensive level measurement-coupling coordination evaluation-spatio-temporal evolution analysis-obstacle factor diagnosis-path regulation optimization",a research framework with local practicality was established for the evaluation of the construction level and system coupling relationship of Beautiful China in Jilin Province.The construction level and system coupling coordination degree of Beautiful China in various cities in Jilin Province from 2010 to 2020 were measured,and their spatio-temporal differentiation and spatial agglomeration characteristics were explored.Finally,an optimized path was proposed to promote the construction of Beautiful China in Jilin Province,providing theoretical guidance and decision-making reference for easing the contradiction between regional development and human-environment in Jilin Province and promoting its high-quality and sustainable development.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)From 2010 to 2020,the comprehensive level of Beautiful China construction in Jilin Province has been improved,but the degree of unevenness has gradually deepened.Yanbian,Baicheng,and Songyuan have always maintained outstanding advantages.The comprehensive level of Beautiful China construction in Liaoyuan,Tonghua,and Songyuan has been declining,while Jilin City and Yanbian have been on the rise,and Siping,Changchun,Baishan,and Baicheng have shown a trend of first decline and then rise.Looking at each subsystem,except for the construction level of the production subsystem,which has declined during the research period,the construction levels of the ecological,habitat,and life subsystems have all improved to varying degrees.(2)The Comprehensive Level of Beautiful China Construction in Jilin Province exhibits obvious regional differentiation,presenting an overall pattern of "high in the east and west,low in the middle".The comprehensive construction level and the construction levels of production,habitat,and ecological subsystems all show significant spatial agglomeration characteristics.In terms of regions,the central region has a higher level of construction in the living and production subsystems,but a lower level in the habitat and ecological subsystems.The western region has a higher level of ecological subsystem construction but a lower level of living subsystem construction.The eastern region has a lower level of production subsystem construction but a higher level of habitat and ecological subsystem construction.In terms of cities,Changchun City has the most reasonable energy consumption structure and land use,but its air and water quality is relatively low.Baishan City has relatively high air and water quality,but a high dependence on energy,inefficient use of land,and weak sewage and garbage treatment capabilities.Yanbian Prefecture and Baicheng City are leading in ecological conditions in the province,while Liaoyuan City still has a large gap in ecological foundation compared to other cities.(3)The coupling coordination degrees of the production-habitat-ecology-living system and the human(production and living)-land(habitat and ecology)system in the construction of Beautiful China in Jilin Province have been continuously increasing,and the degree of imbalance has gradually decreased during the study period.In terms of spatial distribution,the moderately coordinated type of the production-habitat-ecology-living system is distributed in contiguous areas,gradually extending to the western region and reaching its maximum range in 2020,becoming the main type of coupling coordination in Jilin Province.In terms of the coupling coordination of the human-land system,it presents a spatial pattern of "high in the east and west,low in the middle",and with the gradual improvement of the coordination degree in the central region,the spatial differentiation of the coupling coordination at the provincial scale has gradually decreased.At the city and prefecture level,Songyuan City has the highest coupling coordination degrees for the production-habitat-ecology-living system and the human-land system,while both types of coupling coordination degrees in Siping City and Liaoyuan City are relatively low.(4)The obstacle degree model measurement found that the main obstacles affecting the level of Beautiful China construction in Jilin Province are reflected in four aspects: the degree of ecological protection and restoration,the efficiency of solid waste utilization,the quality of urban environment,and the construction of park green spaces.Based on this,an optimized path for the construction of Beautiful China in Jilin Province is proposed:At the level of human activity,promote the transformation of industries towards green and low-carbon development;at the level of geographic environment,increase efforts in ecological restoration and environmental improvement;at the level of coordinated development of human-land relationships,optimize the rational layout of people,land,and industry,and lead with innovation to jointly enhance the development foundation and quality of the system’s multiple elements.
