In recent years,the number of autistic children has been increasing year by year.All walks of life have paid great attention to autistic children.Children with autism generally suffer from social disorders,narrow interests and stereotyped behaviors,and it is difficult for them to integrate into normal social life.Moreover,autism cannot be completely cured,but can only be treated with lifelong intervention.Compared with foreign countries,China started relatively late in the field of autism treatment and related toy design.There is a great demand for autism assisted treatment toys in rehabilitation centers and families with autism.At present,some scholars have introduced the concept of embodied cognition into the treatment of autism,and have made some achievements,which opens a new idea for the treatment of autism.In terms of the research content,based on the embodied cognitive theory model,this paper starts with the sensory channel and motor channel of children with autism,studies the physiological characteristics,motor behavior characteristics and emotional characteristics of children,and proposes new ideas for the research of product design in the perception layer,interaction layer,emotion layer and image layer,trying to make up for the vacancy in the autism toy market in China.In terms of research methods,literature research,field research,case analysis,interdisciplinary research and other research methods are used.Through literature research,we understand the basic concept of embodied cognition theory and clarify the guiding role of embodied cognition theory in autism treatment.The field investigation method was used to go into the autism rehabilitation center to observe the autistic children and the characteristics of their environment.Through the case analysis method,the toys that conform to embodied cognition theory selected from the market research are analyzed emphatically,and the problems existing in the products are summarized as well as the enlightening points.Finally,combined with the conclusions of ABA behavioral analysis therapy,sensory integration therapy and market product research,the five principles of autism toy design were summarized,namely,the safety principle of sensory experience,the embodied principle of interactive experience,the generalization principle of training results,the proximity principle of modeling image and the sustainable principle of toy use.The design practice should improve the cognitive ability and hand-eye coordination ability of autistic children through multi-sensory experience,and cooperate with timely feedback,so that autistic children can constantly think and learn in the interesting interactive experience,so as to improve their social interaction problems.It is hoped that this study will increase the social attention to autistic children and bring hope to the majority of autistic families.
