Separation anxiety is one of the most common anxiety among young children.Most of them occur in the first stage of children entering kindergarten.80% of children entering kindergarten will experience separation anxiety in different situations,which needs attention.In cognitive theory,children’s separation anxiety is formed by body perception and cognitive discovery,while in embodied cognitive theory,cognition is formed by the influence of sensory experience and motor experience in the interaction between body and environment.In theory,instructional design is able to influence separation anxiety in young children.The mitigation measures for children’s separation anxiety include gradient admission,family-based environmental education,and targeted soothing by teachers.Teaching aids are the most frequently used tools by teachers,and they are also the tools that children have been in contact with for the longest time in the kindergarten.This article will use embodied cognition as the guiding theory to design a set of teaching toy products to help children relieve separation anxiety,and design supporting courses.To suit the kindergarten scene.This paper firstly sorts out the concept,manifestations,influencing factors and existing solutions of children’s separation anxiety,and finds the shortcomings of existing solutions for children’s separation anxiety.The four basic design elements of color,shape,function and material of existing teaching toys are analyzed.Through the analysis of the development of embodied cognition,theoretical propositions,theoretical models,and the characteristics of children’s embodied cognition,it provides a basis for the output of design principles,namely embodied principle,functional principle,interactive principle,and motivational principle.Combining the causes of separation anxiety among children and the field research of children entering the kindergarten,the design strategies for separation anxiety products in kindergarten to meet the cognitive and behavioral development of children are put forward.Strategy.After the field research and summary,children’s separation anxiety is divided into four stages: preparation for entering kindergarten,emotional comfort,familiarity with the environment,and cultivating life rules and order,which can help children’s separation anxiety product design to be effectively integrated into children’s life and learning.To sum up,this paper discusses the uniqueness of embodied cognition in the design of children’s separation anxiety teaching toys from theory and practice,and establishes the design principles and design strategies of separation anxiety products.It improves the teaching toys to cultivate children’s good cognitive function,expands the functional scope of the teaching toys,and provides a new solution to the separation anxiety problem that plagues children.
