The rapid development of the digital economy has provided new development opportunities for the high-quality and sustainable development of China’s economy and society, especially for the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. At the same time, the emerging digital economy also opens up a new path for achieving green development.Environmental and resource issues have become a major challenge for the green transformation of China’s economic and social development, and green development is a strategic choice for China’s high-quality development. In the new era,not only to achieve high-quality development of industrial economy, but also to achieve green development,to give full play to the positive role of digital economy on industrial structure optimization, energy saving and emission reduction, etc. On October 8,2021,the "Yellow River Basin Ecological Protection and High-Quality Development Planning Outline" clearly points out to carry out "digitalization, informationization The new infrastructure construction in the Yellow River Basin will promote the development of transportation, energy and other infrastructure in the Yellow River Basin, and promote the deep integration of "digital economy" and "traditional",so as to provide a "green" and "digital" infrastructure. We will provide a new way of thinking about the development of "green","digital" and"intelligent".Therefore,it is necessary to evaluate the advancement of the digital economy and industrial green total factor productivity in the Yellow River Basin and to study the relationship between them. This paper has six parts:The first part is the introduction,in which the background of this paper is introduced, and the purpose and significance of the research are explained.Secondly, the structure of the article is sorted out,and finally, innovation and shortcomings of the article are pointed out.The second part is a literature review. The literature on the development of the digital economy and industrial green total factor productivity and the influencing factors between the two are sorted out respectively. The third part is a theoretical analysis. The concepts of digital economy and green total factor productivity are defined, and the relevant theories of digital economy and green total factor productivity are elaborated. The direct effects of the digital economy on the green total factor productivity of industries in the Yellow River Basin are analysed from the perspectives of technological progress, resource allocation and economies of scale, and the mechanism of the impact of the digital economy on the green total factor productivity of industries in the Yellow River Basin is analysed from the perspective of industrial restructuring and upgrading of traditional industries. The fourth part of this study is the measurement and analysis of the level of development of the digital economy and the green total factor productivity of industries in the Yellow River Basin. The main methods adopted are the entropy weight method and data envelopment analysis. The fifth part is an empirical study. The direct and indirect effects of the two are empirically analysed by using a two-way fixed effects model and a mediated effects model, respectively, and the robustness and endogeneity of the model are tested on this basis. The sixth section contains conclusions and policy recommendations. The findings are summarised and conclusions are drawn, and constructive suggestions are made to address the current state of development of the digital economy and some of the problems that exist today. The fourth part is the measurement and analysis of the development level of the digital economy and industrial green total factor productivity in the Yellow River Basin. The principal methods adopted are entropy weight method and data envelopment analysis method. The fifth part is an empirical study of the advancement of the digital economy on industrial green total factor productivity in the Yellow River Basin. The direct and indirect effects of the two are analyzed empirically by using two-way fixed effect model and mediated effect model respectively, and the robustness and endogeneity of the model are tested on this basis. The sixth part is the research conclusions and policy recommendations. The results of the above study are summarized to draw conclusions, and some constructive comments are made on the current state of development of the digital economy and the problems that exist today. The conclusions of this paper are:First, the level of digital economy advancement in the Yellow River Basin is on an upward trend, and the comprehensive index of digital economy development has increased from 0.22 in 2012 to 0.38 in 2020,with an average annual growth rate of 7.07%,Overall the scores are not very high and there are clear regional differences, particularly in Shandong Province and Sichuan Province, both of which have higher levels of digital economy than other regions.Second, from an overall perspective, the level of industrial green development in the Yellow River Basin from 2012 to 2020 is generally on an upward trend, with Shandong,Henan,Sichuan and Shaanxi Province having the most obvious upward trend in efficiency values, and the overall level of green development in the Yellow River Basin is improving.Third, the digital economy promotes green and high-quality economic development through resource allocation, economies of scale and technological progress, and has a direct positive driving effect on industrial green total factor productivity, which can significantly improve industrial green total factor productivity in the Yellow River basin;fourth, the digital economy can indirectly promote green total factor productivity through the optimization and adjustment of industrial structure and upgrading of traditional industries;its intermediary effect is significant in the process of digital economy advancement promoting industrial green total factor productivity. |
