Mitigating climate change and reducing carbon emissions have become one of the most urgent issues faced by countries around the world.Currently,the import and trade volume of various countries is increasing,and while the import intensity is increasing,the carbon emission intensity is also changing.On the one hand,import trade promotes the economic development of various countries,and on the other hand,it also brings about carbon emission transfer and carbon emission reduction effects,which has become an important issue in dealing with global climate change.After entering the 21 st century,industrial robots have entered a period of rapid development,and the import trade of industrial robots has shown a trend of rapid growth.Imported industrial robots have been widely used in various industrial fields,becoming a key factor affecting global carbon emissions.Based on this,this paper attempts to explore the relationship between industrial robot import trade and global carbon emissions.This paper selects 50 sample countries from 2000 to 2019 as the research object,explores the impact of industrial robot import trade on global carbon emissions based on the EKC model,reveals the internal mechanism of industrial robot import trade affecting carbon emissions,and uses the mediation effect model to verify.Finally,the three-dimensional heterogeneity of the impact of industrial robot import trade on carbon emissions is discussed in depth.The research results show that the mechanism of industrial robot import affecting global carbon emissions includes direct effect,indirect effect and heterogeneous effect.First,the import trade of industrial robots is conducive to global carbon emission reduction,and this conclusion still holds after a series of robustness tests.Second,the impact of industrial robot import trade on global carbon emissions is mediated by technological progress,industrial structure,economic scale,and energy intensity.The import trade of industrial robots negatively affects global carbon emissions by promoting technological progress,upgrading industrial structure and reducing energy intensity,and promotes global carbon emission reduction.At the same time,the import trade of industrial robots has promoted the expansion of economic scale,increased global carbon emissions,and obscured part of the carbon emission reduction effect,but in general,the import trade of industrial robots has promoted global carbon emission reduction.Finally,the carbon emission reduction effect of industrial robot import trade has three-dimensional heterogeneity in economic development level,import intensity and environmental regulation intensity.The import trade of industrial robots significantly contributes to carbon emission reduction in countries with low economic development level.Significantly contribute to carbon reduction in countries with high import intensity of industrial robots.The carbon emission reduction effect of industrial robot import trade in countries with higher environmental regulation intensity is stronger.Finally,based on the relevant empirical test results,policy recommendations are put forward: Expanding the import trade of industrial robots,promoting industrial robot technology learning and technology spillover effects.Accelerate the intelligent and low-carbon transformation of traditional industries with the help of industrial robots,and promote the upgrading of the industrial structure.Promote the import trade of industrial robots in countries with low economic development level,reduce energy intensity,and drive carbon emission reduction in economically underdeveloped areas.Improve environmental regulation policies,forcing enterprises to improve the level of import trade and application of industrial robots,and promote the realization of global carbon emission reduction goals. |
