This is the only county in the country that has been home to generations of hard-working,simple and kind-hearted aquatic people,and it is located in Sandu County in the Qiannan Buyi Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province.Horsetail embroidery is one of the representatives of the Shui ethnic group,with a long history,exquisite designs and the artistic effect of shallow relief,and is known as a "living fossil of embroidery".Horsetail embroidery is the result of the wisdom of the women of the tribe,not only as a survival skill,but also as a way of expressing their desire to live a fulfilling life,their desire to express their feelings of beauty,and their wishes for their families,all in a single stitch.The patterns of horsetail embroidery show a strong sense of decoration and visual impact.The variety of horsetail embroidery motifs,the complexity of their meaning,and the direction of their application are all worthy of deeper exploration.At present,modern society is developing rapidly under the "catalyst"of the Internet,and cultural and creative products have become the main carrier of cultural information.As the Shui people are isolated,the number of people who are aware of the value of horsetail embroidery is very small,so the application of horsetail embroidery in cultural and creative design is extremely relevant and sustainable to the needs of the people.It gives a cultural value to the product,and the uniqueness of the ethnic culture makes the product a strong commercial value;for the buyer,the use of the product means the inheritance of the ethnic culture and the feeling of its vitality.The feasibility of this design application is one of the implications of this research.In this paper,the purpose and significance of the research on the application of horsetail embroidery patterns in cultural and creative design,the current situation of domestic and international research,and the innovation points of the research are systematically outlined,and the precise concept and scope of horsetail embroidery patterns are clarified,taking the interpretation of patterns as the premise and design practice as the main line.Secondly,the cultural connotations and linguistic features of the horsetail embroidery patterns of the aquatic community are explained in drawings and texts,and the reasons for their formation,aesthetic awareness and cultural value are analysed in depth.Finally,the above research is used as a basis for exploring the possible directions of the application of horsetail embroidery patterns in cultural and creative design,and the author’s research findings on horsetail embroidery patterns are used as primary and secondary design elements for innovative design practice.The aim is to expand the scope of application of horsetail embroidery in the design field,to try to interpret the artistic development process of the aquatic people using horsetail embroidery as a carrier from the root,and to try to open up new ideas for the development of the traditional culture of the ethnic group in a new era.On the one hand,it is the reflection of contemporary design students.In the face of the materialistic world,there are many entry points for us to start practicing design,but we should not go with the flow,we should look back at these ethnic cultures that have strong vitality and give them new life with our best dedication.On the other hand,it is the thinking of the social community that the development and survival of excellent ethnic traditional culture should be recognised by society,which should not be overly fawning on foreigners,but should accept the new development of ethnic culture with a tolerant and broad attitude.With the joint efforts of all parties,a unique path of cultural and creative design with the characteristics of Chinese ethnic culture will be created!...
