Research On Genderless Style In Contemporary Fashion Design

The boundaries between modern men’s clothing and women’s clothing styles are gradually disappearing.Shirts,sweaters,overalls,sportswear...More and more clothing styles do not have gender boundaries exclusive to men or women,and minimalist,Oversize and other styles are also becoming more and more popular.The more people accept it,the development of clothing is moving in a more inclusive and diverse direction.In this process,the genderlessness of contemporary clothing has become an important trend that cannot be ignored.More and more brands have broken the distinction between menswear and womenswear,and more and more genderless clothing brands have emerged.This research adopts literature analysis method,case analysis method and comparative analysis method.This article is divided into six parts.Firstly,this paper analyzes the research background and current situation,expounds the research purpose and significance,research methods and content,innovation,summarizes the content of the full text,and defines the concept of asexual clothing based on literature review.Secondly,by tracing the origin of asexual clothing design,this paper analyzes the evolution of masculinity,feminization and fuzziness of women’s clothing in the process of asexuality based on cases,and discusses the popular reasons of asexuality from the influence of lifestyle,feminism and subculture.Through the performance of gender free style in contemporary fashion design,this paper summarizes four design methods of gender free clothing,which are respectively mixing "contrast gender elements",purist design,deconstructing modeling,blurring gender characteristics,and using abstract patterns to convey ideas.Asexual pattern design includes geometric pattern,image pattern and abstract pattern.Asexual modeling design includes the reference and combination of different clothing silhouettes,the combination of "androgyny" styles,and the refinement and blending of abstract structures.This paper expounds the problems and influence of gender free style in contemporary fashion design.The main problems are masculinity and homogenization.The impact is mainly to promote the diversified interpretation of aesthetics and the adjustment of garment industry.Finally,it carries out the design practice of asexuality in contemporary clothing,expounds the design based on this "custom" series design,explains the refinement and expression of design elements,and displays the works.
