With the continuous development of China’s rural economy and society and the increasing improvement of rural residents’ living standards, great changes have taken place in the original rural ecological environment, and the problem of environmental pollution in rural areas has been gradually exposed. This has not only brought great damage to the rural living environment, but also hindered China from realizing its grand goal of Rural Revitalization and building a beautiful China.Among the many problems of rural environmental pollution, the problem of rural domestic waste treatment is the most intuitive and common, and the difficulty of treatment is more prominent.Due to historical factors and the attributes of public goods of waste treatment, local governments have become the main supplier of rural domestic waste treatment services. The lack of sources of environmental treatment funds has brought great pressure to local governments. If farmers can not correctly recognize their main role,it is difficult to actively participate in rural domestic waste treatment, and it is more difficult to bear the responsibility in waste treatment. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study farmers’ willingness to pay for domestic waste treatment and clarify the influencing factors of farmers’ willingness to pay,so as to promote farmers’ participation in rural domestic waste treatment and promote rural environmental pollution remediation.Based on this, this paper studies from the micro perspective of farmers. After combing the relevant literature at home and abroad, this paper combines the theory of public products, the theory of externality, the theory of environmental economics and the theory of planned behavior.Through the field observation and questionnaire survey in the investigated area,344 survey samples were obtained. On this basis, descriptive statistics were carried out on the basic information of farmers, the general situation of domestic waste and farmers’ cognition and evaluation of domestic waste treatment; Then, the Contingent Valuation Method(CVM)is used to estimate farmers’ willingness to pay for domestic waste treatment, and the factors affecting farmers’ willingness to pay are empirically analyzed from five dimensions: individual characteristics, family characteristics, attitude, subjective norms and perceptual behavior control. The method of empirical analysis adopts multi classification logit regression analysis model, and finally puts forward reasonable policy suggestions for reference according to the analysis results and the local actual situation. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The local rural domestic waste treatment has made good progress and achieved preliminary results, but the treatment status of each region is different, and the treatment details still need to be further refined.(2)The composition and proportion of household waste produced by farmers are gradually close to that of urban household waste.Farmers generally hold a high evaluation and positive attitude towards household waste treatment. The willingness of farmers to pay for household waste treatment costs is about 11.54 yuan/ household / month, reflecting farmers’ longing for a better rural environment.(3)Within the specific scope of payment, gender has an impact on Farmers’ willingness to pay;Education level, health status, family annual income, attitude, subjective norms, perceptual behavior control have a positive impact on Farmers’ willingness to pay,and age has a negative impact on Farmers’ willingness to pay.
