Kindergarten Furniture Design Based On Modularization

Kindergarten is the place for children to accept the enlightenment education.Most parents would like to send their children to study in an ideal kindergarten,which requires the kindergarten to possess not only excellent teaching staff but also a nice environment beneficial to children’s grow up.Therefore,the indoor environment and furniture design of the kindergarten is particularly important.Types of children furniture are various on the market,but there are few types that can meet the demands of children.In terms of the shape and function,most of furniture is a smaller version of the adult furniture,which lacks child elements,such as interesting and changeability.Through the early research of theories and design methods,it is found that the furniture modular design method is an effective way to adapt to the demand.This paper is aimed to apply the furniture modular design method to the kindergarten furniture,based on the furniture design project of Guangzhou Binhai Kindergarten.On the one hand the design can solve the problems in the furniture of Binhai Kindergarten;on the other hand,through the application of the modular concept,we can explore the new ideas about the kindergarten furniture.Firstly,this paper researches and analyzes the current situation of the kindergarten furniture at home and abroad to know and understand the development of the kindergarten furniture market;then it expounds the kindergarten furniture and the modular concept,the classification and design elements of the kindergarten furniture,and analyzes the application of the modular design method in the product,and identifies the feasibility and rationality of the modular furniture;finally,it summarizes the relationship between the kindergarten furniture and the modular design as well as the applying method of the modular design in the kindergarten furniture,which can lay the theoretical foundation for the later project.On this basis,the writer has done the kindergarten furniture market research and visited some kindergartens;the writer analyzes the present situation and deficiencies of the kindergarten furniture market.Combined the visits and questionnaire feedback of Binhai Kindergarten,the writer summarizes the demands of the project and target groups.Products can be positioned from the aspects of shape,structure,material,color,etc.achieved a variety of functions into each other in the function;combined the morphology of the compact and lightweight Abstract geometry and abstract endowed with game elements in the form;free assembly connection mode in structure;:mainly in wood and plastic,supplemented by fabric,metal materials in the material;with high saturation color system in the color.Finally the writer designs the furniture products,chooses the final plan and completes the model through the evaluation and optimization.That has a further understanding about the kindergarten furniture and modular design through this design,it is a certain reference significance for the future development of modular kindergarten furniture.
