At present, resource shortage and environmental pollution are becoming more and more serious.Under the background of global carbon emission control and the"carbon peak and neutrality targets" strategy proposed by the Chinese government,China is actively promoting the development of new energy industry. As the forerunner of energy structure adjustment, new energy vehicles have attracted wide attention from the society.Although China’s new energy vehicle industry started early,it develops slowly and has a single structure. In order to change its development status,The Chinese government introduced Tesla, then the leader of the global new energy vehicle industry,in 2013 to stimulate and drive the development of China’s new energy vehicle industry with its "catfish effect".It has been 8 years since Tesla was introduced into China.Has Tesla really played its "catfish effect" and driven the development of China’s new energy market? This is a question worthy of further inquiry. In order to solve the above problems, this paper uses modern statistical analysis methods such as regression kink to analyze the market and patent data of new energy vehicles in recent years,so as to explore the impact of introducing Tesla on the development of China’s new energy market. The first chapter of this paper mainly introduces the research background and significance of the topic and discusses in detail the important value of the development of the new energy automobile industry to realize China’s "carbon peak and neutrality targets" strategy. At the same time, the research method, framework, and the current situation of the research on the development of the new energy vehicle industry are summarized in detail.Chapter 2 introduces the development of Tesla in the Chinese market, including its product positioning, product strategy, and market development, and also introduces the introduction policy of the Chinese government.Chapter 3 introduces the basic theoretical knowledge of regression kink model, including the general form of the model, parameter estimation, and significance test. The least-square method is used to theoretically derive the parameter estimation formula of the model in detail and the Bootstrap method of significance test is given. In order to verify the regression kink effect of Tesla on China’s new energy market, empirical analysis is carried out in chapter 4.Firstly,data are compressed and lag dependent variables are introduced on the basis of ensuring that the model is actually interpretable and the error sequence is approximately irrelevant. Then global search and grid search are used to solve the parameters and the inflection point regression model is established. Finally, the Bootstrap method was used to test the significance of the model.Taking the influence of Tesla on the domestic new energy vehicle market as an example, under the premise of significance level of 10%,the incremental P value is obtained as 0.05,thus rejecting the original hypothesis and concluding that there is an inflection point effect between the two. Finally,in chapter 5,the main conclusions are summarized and suggestions for improvement are put forward. After analysis, the main contents are as follows:First, when Tesla’s share is higher than 7.3%,it will produce a regression kink effect and hinder the market development.Second, the regression kink effect of Tesla on different auto companies is different, which has a lot to do with the product strategies and market status quo of each auto company.Third,Tesla’s public patent has a certain promotion effect on the development of domestic patent technology, compared with Tesla domestic car companies should strengthen the investment in research and development in battery and charging technology. These analyses can provide suggestions for the development of domestic new energy manufacturers, and can also provide a reference for the national macro-control and introduction policies in other fields. |
