Intangible cultural heritage is an integral part of the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.The theory of cultural evolution also clearly points out that culture must adapt to environmental changes and human needs to make appropriate changes in order to survive.However,with the rapid development of modern society and market economy,many intangible cultural heritage protection and development work failed to take appropriate measures in time according to the changes of living environment and people’s needs,which made the survival of intangible cultural heritage in trouble.On the one hand,the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage have some problems,such as more traditional business concepts and models,poor information literacy,lack of professional voice,and weak market competitiveness of intangible cultural heritage products.On the other hand,the new needs of intangible cultural heritage consumers with the development of the times have not been paid attention to and met,which leads to the situation of intangible cultural heritage is faced with severe inheritance situation,the market information is not smooth,the product popularity and transaction rate is low,and the living space is shrinking.Therefore,in order to promote the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage,we must face up to the changes brought about by the rapid development of the cultural market,and introduce the concept of intangible cultural heritage broker into the research on the protection and development of intangible cultural heritage.Through the professional brokerage services provided by this role,we can play the role of broker as an intermediate bridge to help intangible cultural heritage adapt to the changes of environment and people’s needs,so as to improve the vitality and competitiveness of intangible cultural heritage.According to the research plan,firstly,based on the theory of cultural evolution,this paper analyzes the current development conditions of intangible cultural heritage brokers,and points out the possibility,necessity and importance of their existence;secondly,it sorts out the five representative functions of cultural brokers in the current cultural industry,and summarizes the common functions of cultural brokers;Then,according to the characteristics of intangible cultural heritage resources inheritors and consumers,it infers the role of intangible cultural heritage brokers and the quality and ability they need to have,and points out that intangible cultural heritage brokers are responsible for digging intangible cultural heritage resources,planning intangible cultural heritage marketing activities,smoothing intangible cultural heritage market information,negotiating brokerage contract business and creating a good market environment,etc;Finally,taking Wuhu iron painting as an empirical study,based on the development status of Wuhu iron painting and the analysis of the survey results of Wuhu iron painting consumers and masters’ needs,this paper summarizes the role positioning and brokerage functions of Wuhu iron painting brokers.In the face of the changes of intangible cultural heritage market environment and people’s needs,we must give full play to the professional ability of intangible cultural heritage brokers and the role of communication and coordination bridge,help inheritors create more popular intangible cultural heritage works,so as to promote the sustainable development of intangible cultural heritage.
