Research On Climate Responsive Renovation Design Of Traditional Rural Dwellings In Southern Zhejiang

Traditional rural dwellings in southern Zhejiang Province are residential buildings that have survived for a long time.They record the traces of rural life in the past decades or even hundreds of years,and now also carry the ordinary and simple daily life of many elderly villagers.However,at present,the transformation and repair of these dwellings are often confined to the exterior,and the dark and damp interior of the dwellings has not received enough attention.Climate-responsive design is a way for buildings to actively respond to climate.It can make buildings guide natural lighting and ventilation according to climate changes,improve the living environment,and bring more possibilities to the elderly villagers,traditional dwellings,and traditional villages in a dynamic and variable way.Based on the realistic problem of the dark and damp interior of rural traditional dwellings in southern Zhejiang,this paper provides a solution to the dark and damp interior of rural traditional dwellings in southern Zhejiang by means of climate-responsive transformation design.Firstly,through the analysis of relevant literature,the scope and basic characteristics of rural traditional dwellings in southern Zhejiang are expounded,and the concept of climate-responsive design and related climate factors are clarified.Secondly,based on the investigation and interview,this paper analyzes the causes of the dark and damp problems of rural traditional dwellings in southern Zhejiang,demonstrates the necessity of climate-responsive renovation design,and summarizes the spatial restriction factors of the renovation of rural traditional dwellings in southern Zhejiang from the perspective of residential dwellings and villagers.Then,the famous cases of climate-responsive houses abroad are analyzed,and the climate elements they respond to are summarized.Combined with the context of southern Zhejiang,four typical climate stages of rural areas in southern Zhejiang are obtained as climate elements,and the corresponding villager behaviors at each stage are obtained as behavior elements.Then,according to the three elements of residential space,climate stage and villager behavior in the climate-responsive renovation design of rural traditional dwellings in southern Zhejiang,the principles and methods of the renovation design are proposed,namely,the four principles of authenticity,humanity,dynamism and convenience.And in the "seedling transplanting day" to expand the degree of space opening,in the "Huangmei day" to develop new space function,in the "dog days" to restore the degree of space permeability,in the "nine days" to strengthen the space closed four methods.Finally,the principles and methods obtained are applied to the reconstruction design of rural traditional dwellings in the village of Zhehu Yang in the northeast of the southern Zhejiang region,from theory to practice,providing theoretical and scheme references for the subsequent reconstruction of rural traditional dwellings in southern Zhejiang and climate-responsive design.
