In order to achieve global economic, social and environmental sustainability, leaders formally adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in 2015.After that, relevant institutions held meetings to formulate 247 indicators and pointed out that visualization of indicators is crucial. In this paper,we analyze the existing studies on visualization of SDGs target indicators and find that there is a lack of visualization research that reflects the overall content of all indicators and the representation form does not reflect the content level characteristics of indicators. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to classify, design and create visualization products for all SDGs indicators based on content-level characteristics. In this paper,we first analyze 247 indicators according to the definition of SDGs indicators, construct the content hierarchy in the two attributes of "where" and "what",and finally these indicators are grouped into six classes according to their characteristics: Single aspect-without sub-aspect-without sub-region,Single aspect-with sub-aspect-without subregion,Single aspect-without sub-aspect-with sub-region,Multi aspect-without sub-aspectwithout sub-region,Multi aspect-with sub-aspect-without sub-region,Multi aspect-with subaspect-with sub-region.Then,the visualization design is carried out in a simple form according to the data representation requirements of various indicators, and the visualization representation of various indicators in time series is considered and designed. The final SDGs indicators are visualized in three basic forms: bar charts, composite bar charts, and thematic maps, while multi-aspect indicators are represented in the form of dashboards. In order to improve the visual representation effect of SDGs indicators, such as aesthetics, interactivity and ease of use,it is necessary to select a suitable visualization platform to make indicator visualization products. In this paper,we analyze the interaction function, template function, editing function,three-dimensional environment, dynamic representation and main representation data types of five existing typical visualization platforms ECharts,Highcharts,Power Map,Pixel Map Generator and Polymers.ECharts and Power Map,which are relatively comprehensive and mainly represent statistical data and geographic data respectively, are selected from these platforms. Then, the usability evaluation of the two platforms is carried out.The analytic hierarchy process is used to construct a visual platform usability evaluation indicator system and calculate the weight value, including four secondary indicators of interface presentation, visual representation and production, platform system operation, help and error correction and 14 tertiary indicators. Then the user test method and questionnaire method are used to obtain the user ratings of each usability indicator of the two platforms and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used to process the experimental data and obtain the overall scores of each platform. The ECharts is selected as the platform for making visualization products of SDGs indicators according to the scores. The experimental results show that the visualization results produced by the proposed method can effectively represent SDGs indicators.Compared with the SDGs indicators visualization products of the world bank, this method has the advantages of representing the complete content and hierarchy of indicators.
