Investigation And Analysis Of Medicinal Plant Resources In Karst Area Of Sino-Vietnam Border In Guangxi

Abstract/Summary:
The medicinal plant resources in the karst area along the Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi were investigated and studied through literature collation,field investigation,market survey and laboratory specimen identification.The composition and characteristics of medicinal plants in the karst area along the Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi were mastered,and the diversity of life forms,resource types,medicinal parts,medicinal effects and the characteristics of ethnic medicines were analyzed.The statistics of state-level and autonomous region protected medicinal plants in the karst area of Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi were collected,and the rare medicinal plants that were not included in the protection range were evaluated according to the IUCN evaluation standard.The list of medicinal plants in the karst area of Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi was compiled.The problems and development countermeasures of medicinal plant resources utilization in karst area of Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi were discussed.The findings are as follows:1.A total of 2594 species of medicinal plants(belonging to 226 families and 1092 genera)were found in the karst area along the Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi.Among them,there are 2,334 wild medicinal plants and 260 cultivated medicinal plants.There were 147 species of medicinal ferns(belonging to 58 genera of 33 families),24 species of medicinal gymnosperms(belonging to 17 genera of 9 families),and 2423 species of medicinal angiosperms(belonging to 1017 genera of 184 families).2.The statistical analysis of medicinal plants in the karst area of Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi from the aspects of dominant families,medicinal characters,medicinal parts and efficacy shows that there are 37 dominant families and 25 dominant genera of medicinal plants in this area.The 37 dominant families contain 1676 species,and the 25 dominant genera contain 384 species.Medicinal plants in this area are mainly herbaceous plants,with a total of 1112 species,followed by shrubs,trees and vines.The main medicinal parts were whole grass,root and stem.Medicinal plants with functions of clearing heat and detoxifying activating blood stasis and dispelling wind and dampness are commonly used by residents in this area.3.In the karst area of Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi,the species of bulk medicinal materials and genuine medicinal materials are rich and diverse.Among them,there were 42 kinds of genuine medicinal materials.There are 26 kinds of bulk medicinal materials,Among Illicium verum,Panax notoginseng,Sophora tonkinensis,Dimocarpus longan,Biancaea sappan,Zanthoxylum nitidum,Tetradium ruticarpum,Spatholobus suberectus,Sarcandra glabra,Amomum villosum,Strobilanthes cusia,Gardenia jasminoides,Paris polyphylla,Curcuma longa and Corydalis saxicola are the Large Daodiherbs in Guangxi SinoVietnam border,with large sales volume.4.Through field investigation,visits to folk medicine markets and visits by folk doctors,it is found that ethnic medicine in the karst area of Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi has obvious characteristics:(1)the application of folk medicine resources has a long history;(2)Fixed location and time of herbal medicine market;(3)Variety of common,authentic or bulk medicinal materials;(4)medicinal bath plants sell well;(5)Poisonous plants are abundant and diverse.5.A total of 180 rare and endangered medicinal plants belong to 42 families and 96 genera,including 17 ferns,7 gymnosperms and 156 angiosperms;There are 3 plants under state first class key protection,88 plants under state second class key protection,and 89 plants under autonomous region level key protection.According to the IUCN Red List evaluation criteria,the rare and endangered wild medicinal plants in this area were assessed as critically endangered(CR),endangered(EN)(18),vulnerable(VU)(51),and threatened(NT)(40).It is suggested that 111 species of wild medicinal plants(belonging to 83 genera and49 families)such as Hong Kong Magnolia should be included in the list of key protected wild medicinal plants in the karst area along the Sino-Vietnam border in Guangxi.
