Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China) refers to the bounders between China (Yunnan & Guangxi) and Vietnam, integrated species diversity and moss flora study of this area was made for the first time. The Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China) lies in the south of the tropic of cancer, which belongs to the rather limited scope of tropical regions in China. This study gets a significant sense to the species diversity research of Chinese bryophytes and the regionalization of bryological regions of China, as well as the discussion of the bryoflora relationship between subtropics and topics. It also contribute to the biodiversity research and ecosystem protection of this area.More than 2600 specimens was obtained through nine times of field collections in 17 counties of Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China), the moss checklist of this area was get after identifying specimens. Species diversity and moss flora analysis of this area was done, the comparison of moss DGI, similarity index of genera & species and floristic spectrum, along with cluster analysis of Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China) with nine adjacent regions, including five provinces of China (Guizhou, Guangdong, Hainan, Fujian and Taiwan) and four South Asia countries (Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines) were made. Results are as follows:1. The moss flora of Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China) consist of 452 species (including infraspecific taxa), belonging to 155 genera of 51 families. Of with, Taxithelium kerianum (Broth.) Broth.was reported new to China.2. There are nine dominant families in Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China), including 67 genera and 251 species accounting for 43.23% of the total genera and 55.53% of the total species. Meteoriaceae, contains 17 genera and 41 species accounting for 10.97% of the total genera and 9.07% of the total species, is the richest family, which followed by Brachytheciaceae (7 genera,37 species) and Pottiaceae (12 genera,31 species). There are 12 dominant genera with 130 species in this area, which account for 28.76% of the total species,66 genera which contains only one species in each genus accounts for 42.58% of the total genera. It indicates the diversity and complexity of the moss species of Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China).3. The moss flora of Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China) was divided into 12 areal-types. It’s dominated by Tropical Asia element, which accounts for 31.19% of the total species. East Asia element (25.46%) and North Temperate element (13.76%) rank second and third respectively. It means a significant tropical and temperate mixed feature of this area.4. The comparison of Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China) and nine adjacent regions shows that:Vietnam has the highest similarity index of genera with Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China), whereas Guizhou gets the highest similarity index of species with the studied area. In addition, the result of cluster analysis suggests that the moss flora of Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China) is more closely related to Guizhou, Guangdong, Fujian and Taiwan, which indicates the moss flora of Sino-Vietnam border area (Yunnan & Guangxi, China) is transited from subtropical flora to topical flora.More than 600 moss specimens was collected from three provinces of north Vietnam, which belong to 240 species (including infraspecific taxa) of 155 genera in 41 families. Of which, ten genera and 61 species (with one subspecies) are newly added to the moss flora of Vietnam. In addition, the occurrence of Ctenidium pinnatum (Broth.& Paris) Broth.in Vietnam is confirmed. All new generic records are illustrated based on the local specimens. The latest checklist of the mosses of Vietnam is worked out, according to available literature refer to the mosses of Vietnam and the newly added genera and species. The checklist comprises 61 families, 227 genera, and 816 species (including 50 infraspecific taxa), in addition,103 taxa of mosses are hitherto known only from Vietnam.
