| Scientific literacy refers to a person’s ability to understand and apply scientific knowledge,to recognize and solve problems,and to have good innovation and adaptability.In today’s society with rapid development of science and technology,scientific literacy has become one of the essential survival skills.Therefore,the promotion of scientific literacy has been recognized as a major goal of science education in the world.To achieve the goal of improving students’ scientific literacy depends on teachers to a large extent,and teachers’ scientific literacy level plays an important role in improving students’ scientific literacy.Based on this,this study took 126 junior students in a normal university in Shandong who took Physics Experiment Design course as the research object,and investigated the status quo of science literacy of pre-service physics teachers by using open scientific literacy questionnaire.According to the current situation and related training strategies,the cultivation strategy and teaching activity design of pre-service physics teachers’ scientific literacy were formulated.In order to understand the specific situation of the subjects in each dimension of science literacy and the differences in understanding of science literacy between different genders,the closed-type science literacy questionnaire was used to pre-test the participants before the implementation of teaching.According to the training strategy and teaching activity design to carry out specific teaching and post-test;Finally,according to the statistical analysis of the results,the influence of teaching activities on the cultivation of pre-service physics teachers’ scientific literacy is studied.The main research process and results are as follows:(1)Through the open-end questionnaire of science literacy survey consisting of 15open-ended questions,126 participants were given questionnaires,and the current situation of science literacy of pre-service physics teachers obtained from the questionnaire was analyzed.It was found that pre-service physics teachers held nine views on science literacy.For example,people with scientific literacy should be able to use scientific knowledge and thinking to understand scientific problems and be able to express their own opinions and positions;Natural phenomenon refers to a state of spontaneous occurrence of natural laws in nature,such as climate change;The evaluation of the quality of scientific information needs independent thinking and multi-faceted judgment,rather than relying on standards and authorities,etc.According to the answers of the participants,it can be seen that the participants have a full understanding of the relationship between science and technology and society,which may be related to the increasing popularity of technology and social network in the world.But understanding of the content and nature of science needs to improve.Male participants tended to think more analytically,while female participants tended to think more emotionally.(2)Put forward training strategies and practices.Combined with life examples,guided inquiry method and STS education,etc.,and carried out specific teaching activities for eight weeks aiming at the three dimensions of science content,science essence and the relationship between science and technology and society.In the aspect of science content knowledge,pay attention to the combination with life examples,understand scientific knowledge;In terms of the nature of science,design the situation,give students the opportunity to explore,guide students to explore learning,master the methods of inquiry learning;In terms of the relationship between science and technology and society,we discussed related issues in a group based on what we had learned and the relevant information we found,and supported our views with examples.Transform scientific knowledge and the scientific research process into problem-solving capabilities.(3)Analyze the influence of teaching activities according to the results of pre-test and post-test.Training strategies in the two dimensions of "basic scientific perspective" and "the relationship between science and society" have a certain positive impact on the science literacy of pre-service physics teachers.However,in the dimension of "scientific method" and "scientific concept",the training strategy could not improve the use of scientific method and the understanding of scientific concept of pre-service physics teachers. |
