| Under the background of high-quality agricultural development, improving the contribution degree of agricultural total factor productivity(ATFP)has become one of the strategic goals of China’s agricultural development, and exploring its effective improvement path is the core of the work.Existing studies focus more on the influence of factors such as factors mismatch within the agricultural sector, land fragmentation, and technological progress on ATFP,while there are few empirical studies on the ripple effect of development in other sectors. The externalities generated in the development of these non-agricultural sectors also restricted the improvement of ATFP,especially the negative externalities of mineral resources development. As an important part of the industry, the exploitation and processing of mineral resources are close to the agricultural area, which has a negative impact on the agricultural production environment, which not only restricts the improvement of ATFP,but also leads to regional differences in the growth of ATFP.In this context,it is of great significance to explore the impact of mineral resource development on ATFP and its mechanism for narrowing regional differences and promoting the improvement of agricultural quality, efficiency and driving force in China. Therefore, this paper takes the Yellow River Basin, which is a major grain producing area and an intensive area of natural resources development,as the research object. The data of about 6500 enterprises engaged in mineral resources development in the industrial enterprise database are matched to the county level to empirically evaluate the impact of mineral resources intensive development on local ATFP during 2003-2013.And from the perspective of environmental damage, the influence mechanism is empirically tested.Firstly, based on the externality theory, the influence mechanism of mineral resources development on ATFP was analyzed.Secondly,Malmquist Index method was used to measure ATFP of 205 counties in the study area. Then, the measured ATFP was incorporated into the econometric model as a dependent variable, and the panel regression model was used to empirically analyze the specific impact of mineral resources development on ATFP.Then, based on the empirical analysis of its influence, the mediation effect model is used to systematically examine the specific influence mechanism of mineral resources development on ATFP.Finally,on the basis of the above analysis, combined with the actual situation of The Yellow River basin in China, the corresponding policy suggestions are put forward,in order to provide decision-making basis for promoting the coordinated development of ATFP and green mineral resources development.Through the above studies, the research conclusions are as follows:(1)From 2003 to 2013,the average value of ATFP in the Whole Yellow River Basin was1.052,showing an overall upward trend with an average annual growth rate of 4.28%.However,its growth rate showed a slight fluctuation, that is,it had a downward trend before 2008,and continued to maintain a steady growth after 2008.In terms of driving force,THE improvement of ATFP is mainly driven by technological progress, and the effect of technological scale is relatively weak.By region, the overall trend was similar, but the average annual growth rate of ATFP in the middle and lower reaches was 1.31 percentage points higher than that in the upper reaches.(2)Mineral resources development in the Yellow River Basin of China will restrict the improvement of local ATFP.In the whole Yellow River basin, the loss of ATFP in the sample period was 10.06% for each unit increase in mineral resources exploitation. This effect is more obvious in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the loss of ATFP is 2% more than that in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.(3)through the perspective of environmental destruction test results show that the mechanism of China’s mineral resources in the Yellow River basin development caused serious ecological environment destruction, through this mechanism conduction ATFP caused by the loss, the estimation results show that nearly a quarter of ATFP losses from the environmental pollution produced by local mineral resources development. |
