A Study Of Habermas’ Ideology Of Science And Technology

Science and technology as an increasingly obvious phenomenon in modern society,as a modern philosopher,Habermas has also carried out a thematic thinking and research on it.Habermas,based on the social conditions of late capitalism and inheriting the scientific and technological ideas of the previous relevant theoretical experts,has formed his own unique theory of scientific and technological ideology.Therefore,it is necessary to make a thorough study of this idea in order to highlight its value and significance.In order to better understand Habermas’ theory of ideology of science and technology,the article starts from the objective background of his theory,which originated in the late capitalist period,the strengthening of state intervention,the integration of science and technology and the crisis of capitalism legalization.It also proceeds from Marx’s theory of ideology and science and technology,Max Weber’s theory of rationality and Frankfurt School’s criticism of rationality.In three respects,Habermas’ s theoretical origin is sorted out,and the realistic origin of his thought and the inheritance of his theory are discussed.On this basis,the paper deeply studies Habermas’ theory of thought,and makes a detailed analysis of the basic content,manifestation,characteristics,functions and consequences of his scientific and technological ideology.In terms of basic content,the paper mainly elaborates on the productivity of science and technology as the first and the fact that science and technology have become a new ideology.Then it analyses the three forms of expression of this content,namely,the mass’ s non-politicization,the political scientificalization and the theory of technological domination.From the aspect of science and technology as a false ideology,this paper analyses its characteristics of weakening ideological attributes,strong defense and concealment,manipulation and universality,as well as its maintenance and control functions and moral repression functions.In particular,it deeply analyzed the theoretical consequences of Habermas’ ideology of science and technology on the relevant theories of Marxism.Finally,in view of the above analysis and discussion,the paper analyses the value,limitation and theoretical influence of Habermas’ ideology from two aspects: the relationship between science and technology and productivity,and the relationship between science and technology and ideology,thus deeply probing into the practical enlightenment of Habermas’ ideology of science and technology in the modern society with the rapid development of technology.
