The Study Of Social Work Involved In Home Safety Prevention Of The Urban Elderly Living Alone

Due to multiple reasons such as the change of family structure,the reduction of intergenerational communication,and the rapid development of social economy,the elderly,especially the elderly living alone in social disadvantage,have gradually raised concerns about their pension security.With the increase of age,the physical and psychological systems of elderly people living alone are unable to cope with various unexpected emergencies,leading to their home life facing a variety of security risks,which need to be prevented in advance.When participating in the S community health partner project,the researcher found that many elderly people living alone have a certain degree of hidden safety at home.In response to this problem,the focus of this study is to pay attention to the hidden safety hazards of elderly people living alone in urban communities?How can social workers develop professional social work services and intervene in the safety prevention of the elderly living alone in the S community and achieve results?Taking the elderly living alone in S community of nanjing as the research object,33 elderly living alone between 60 and 80 years old were selected by systematic sampling method.A questionnaire survey was conducted on them to clarify their home security status and possible risks.The study found that the home safety problems of the elderly living alone in S community are mainly manifested in three aspects:hidden dangers in home environment,risks in home behavior and weak safety awareness.Further analysis shows that the emergence of potential safety problems at home is mainly caused by the common influence of factors such as physical health problems,the lack of barrier-free environment transformation and the lack of home safety education.At the same time,due to the lack of social support and help,the elderly living alone cannot get immediate assistance when they are in danger,which increases the risk of subsequent unsafe eventsOn this basis,the researcher selected 8 elderly people living alone with obvious potential safety problems at home as the group objects,and further clarified their potential safety problems at home and their causes through questionnaires and interviews.Therefore,under the guidance of social learning theory and social ecosystem theory,this study adopted the method of group work to help the elderly living alone to establish an education group,designed the group content based on the three dimensions of home security and carried out 8 group activities.At the end of the activity,the results were evaluated and the process was evaluated.The evaluation indicated that the goals set at the initial stage of intervention were basically completed,and the group members' home environment risk was reduced,risky behaviors were corrected,and safety cognition was significantly changed.Finally,the researcher reflect on the advantages and limitations of the development model of group work,the practical process and the multiple roles of social workers.The study found that with the effective support of social learning theory,the group work has a positive effect on the safety prevention of the elderly living alone in the city.Meanwhile,it also put forward Suggestions to increase social attention and investment and provide community safety education services.
