Today, children's education is no longer limited to the school classroom, but rather nature museums, which have a large number of ecological education resources, have become an out-of-school classroom for children to receive education, and children are the main group of visitors to nature museums. The design and development of creative products as a living heritage of nature museum culture is becoming a new force in development and a special way for children to learn about the culture of the collection. However, most of the creative products for children in nature museums are not really interesting to children because they are not unique, and they are not really developed from children's point of view, and they do not match children's cognitive development. The project focuses on the design and development of children's cultural and creative products in nature museums with the theoretical support of "children's cognitive development theory" to find out the defects of children's cultural and creative products in nature museums and explore the solutions.Under the premise of following the law of children's cognitive development,we designed a series of children's stationery and toys to mobilize children's enthusiasm, exercise their imagination, improve their hands-on skills, and further complement the culture of the Museum of Nature with creative products. The design transforms the serious museum culture into a fun and easy-to-accept culture for children,so that they can be interested in nature knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere. We hope that through this design practice,we can target the educational and popularization functions of the nature museum's creative products and deepen children's perception of nature and history and culture in a fun way.
