Virtual reality technology is widely used in the fields of virtual industrial simulation,product display and cultural relic restoration,etc.virtual reality technology is used to solve the problems encountered in the protection of modern architectural cultural heritage,mainly including the following aspects: the modern architecture is an intuitive reflection in understanding the history of modern development,and modern architectures are mostly wooden structures,uncertain factors such as age-old,improper maintenance,limitation of craft,touch of tourists and erosion of natural environment will accelerate the loss of buildings;When tourists appreciate architectures on the spot,the content is relatively simple and the introduction of housing-related knowledge is mainly based on words,which lack interest.Research of architectural cultural heritage is irreplaceable important channel to understand the history of human development.the necessity of using virtual reality technology to protect modern architectural heritage is proposed by analyzing,exploring and studying modern architecturs in various aspects,consulting literatures,compareing various digital protection methods,which can reduce the damage of existing buildings from human and solve the problem of visiting damaged buildings.Taking Wright's Affleck House as an example,First of all,the virtual reality technology is used to create interactive effects with seasonal changes.Through the virtual experience in summer and winter,the changes of the surrounding environment of the house can be experienced in two seasons.the furnishings in the living room of the present and the original different ages are restored.Color images are used to represent the existing living room furnishings,while black and white images are used to represent the living room furnishings of Affleck House first built.Through restoration and contrast,the public's understanding of Wright's design concept is enhanced.an artesian spring is made under the "light well" in the living room to simulate the effect of a pool of water running under the house in summer,which reflects Wright's use of the terrain advantage to replace air conditioning with the cold air generated by artesian spring to achieve the effect of cooling down in summer.Secondly,indoor and outdoor photos,aerial materials are taken on the spot,and the size,original appearance and details of the building are presented to the maximum through the way of reverse modeling,so as to ensure the smooth roaming experience when the architectural details are displayed.The research scheme is conducive to the application of virtual reality technology in the protection of modern architectural heritage,and the implementation of this scheme provides a new idea for the inheritance and protection of architectural cultural heritage.By avoiding direct contact from visitors with the architectural heritage,the frequency of maintenance and replacement can be prolonged.Even if the building is lost,the complete information of the building can be retained,which not only protects the building,but also provides visitors with a different perspective of the experience.innovative design is put forward in terms of the integration of architectural heritage protection and modern digital technology.With the help of different software,the reconstruction of virtual architectures can be completed more efficiently by giving play to their respective advantages.
