The reverse-engineering, also called the reverse seeking engineering or the counter engineering, is an advanced technique to gain entity sample's three-dimensional geometry information and reconstruct its CAD surface and entity model with the help of the modern three-dimensional digital equipment, and then to proceed to process the product. The reverse-engineering takes product as the research object, and makes the product based on the product prototype and the practicality model, which can not only realize the prototype imitation, but also implement the revision and the re-engineering of the product prototype through reconstructing the product components' CAD model, to achieve the goal of designing innovation and the product development on the basis of inquiring about an understanding of original design. The reverse-engineering application not only enhances the precision of product design and manufacture, but shortens the trial cycle of the product, reduces the cost. At present, the reverse-engineering is widely applied in various industries of manufacture field, and has become the important means of absorption and utilization all kinds of vanguard technology.On the basis of the study of the protection method of ethnic cultural heritage, this thesis comprehensively analyzes the demand of cultural relic protection and the feature of the reverse-engineering, and conducts the reverse-engineering application research on the representative protection methods of cultural relic of Guizhou ethnic cultural heritage. The thesis sets the protection of two pottery relic of Buyi minority and the two wooden masks as examples to discuss the application of the reverse-engineering method in the ethnic cultural heritage protection.The following is the main content of the thesis:1,Cultural relic sample's digitalization: According to the outline feature of the cultural relic, the thesis comparatively presents the measure means of the three-dimension digitization, and applies the laser trigonometry method in the data measure of the cultural relic according to the principles of easily-obtaining, low-cost, high-precision, and easy-process.2,Point-cloud data processing method of Cultural relic: The researcher comparatively analyses the various methods of point-cloud data processing such as optimization method of three-point alignment, mutual filtering and triangle-slice-based data simplification etc. to implement principles of alignment of multi-view point cloud, noise removal and data simplification through the engineering software of Geomagic Studio.3,The surface reconstruction of cultural relic: The thesis is mainly about the analysis of the common-used method of surface reconstruction in surface sculpt and the outline surface feature of cultural relic, and takes the method of NURBS Surface widely applied in surface reconstruction to reconstruct the three-dimensional surface of cultural relics by integrating the function features of surface modeling in the engineering software of Geomagic Studio.4,The surface evaluation of the reconstructed cultural relic: On the basis of cultural relic protection and the surface feature, the thesis presents a comparative analysis of the error between the reconstructed CAD model surface of cultural relics and the point cloud data, and evaluates the precision of the surface reconstruction in order to validate the veracity and the model optimizing.5,Three-dimensional CAD entity model reconstruction of cultural relics surface: Adopting the three dimension formative software of Solidworks which is applied widely in entity sculpt to conduct the CAD entity modeling of cultural relics surface and redesigning properly the local feature of the model are to implement its optimization and improvement.
