The essence of human beings is symbolic existence,and symbols are also the basis of communication.In recent years,with the rapid development of the Internet economy and the rise of mobile users in third-and fourth-tier cities and rural areas,young people in small towns have attracted much attention.Small town youth generally refers to young people living in third-,fourth-and lower-tier cities,including young people born in third-,fourth-and lower-tier cities and now living in first-and second-tier cities.Small town youth,in the eyes of the general public,are not only the film and television box-office financiers,but also the main force of the new generation of consumers.As a group that has always been written about,young people in small towns have also ushered in an era of self-expression.At present,short videos have become texts that show the style of the times.They meet the demands of showing life and expressing themselves through the combination of audio-visual and public creation.As the main force of short video creation,small town youth participate in cultural production and symbol creation through creative expression,recording life,displaying skills,and original performance.He/she actively participated in the production and consumption of short videos,showing the most realistic scenes of rural and urban life in the context of new urbanization.On the one hand,it examines the psychological and cultural characteristics behind the popularity of symbol creation of young people in small towns.On the other hand,it provides a new perspective of cultural communication for the development of urban-rural relations by observing the representation of local and urban symbols represented by such videos.Since the concept of youth groups in small towns is relatively vague,and the regional factors in the short video platform are not important signs,some regional symbols cannot be identified as authentic.Through participatory observation of the user's location identification,combined with interviews and surveys of other users' browsing experience,the researchers selected representative young creators from the mainstream creative themes of young people in small towns,and investigated the imagination and individual identity of young people in small towns on urban and rural symbols through semiotic analysis of short video texts of young people in small towns and feedback of recipients,What changes have taken place between the public's preference for these videos and the previous symbol interpretation.From the perspective of media use,this paper first reflects the growth background of young people in small towns,the creators' past media habits,living environment and other factors affect the style of their symbolic creation,and then discusses the short video media endows the small town youth with symbolic subjectivity and realizes themselves through creation.establishment of identity.Starting from the short video text,this paper examines the combination of different symbols in the short video text of young people in small towns.From the perspective of pragmatics,it studies the types and intentions of small town youth's symbolic creation,the creation of short videos,the social psychology and platform mechanism behind the popularity,etc.In addition,from a critical perspective,it looks at the current predicament of young people's creation in small towns,as well as the competition between capital and culture.In the context of the gradual maturity of the short video platform mechanism and the gradual improvement of the supervision system,it is hoped that this research can change the stereotype of young people in small towns in the past,encourage small town youths to participate in the process of symbol production with a positive attitude,and contribute to youth culture,urban and rural areas.Make new contributions to the harmonious development of relationships.
