Compared with the traditional phased array radar,the digital multi-beam radar which synthesizes beams in digital domain has higher synthesis accuracy and consistency than the traditional phased array radar.Therefore,it has better detection performance and been widely concerned at home and abroad with great development potential.This paper studies the digital multi-beam radar signal processing system based on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA),then designs and implements it.Firstly,this paper introduces the research background of digital multi-beam radar and radar signal processing algorithm;secondly,according to the system functional requirements,the overall scheme of radar system and the scheme of signal processing system are designed,including algorithm flow and chip selection;then,the digital multi-beam radar signal processing system is designed and implemented with FPGA chip as the core,The algorithm module and interface module should be included.The algorithm module mainly includes digital down conversion,amplitude and phase calibration,digital multi-beam forming,pulse compression,moving target detection and CFAR detection algorithm module.The interface module mainly includes multi-channel ADC sampling,Ser Des transmission,QDR SRAM memory and Ethernet transmission module.Finally,the multi-beam radar is used to verify the signal processing system,debug each module of the system and analyze the results.The experimental results show that the indexes of the digital multi-beam radar signal processing system based on FPGA meet the requirements and work normally on the radar system.The system can form 12 sum beams and 12 difference beams in pitch,and through the subsequent detection algorithm,the detection of moving targets is realized.
