In contemporary media culture, the fascination with the past has made retro and nostalgia a popular trend, and the re-popularization of Y2K(millennial culture)is a product of this media culture. After 20 years,Y2 K has re-entered the public eye as a cultural symbol, and its connotation has completely changed from the "computer millennial" program risk and pop culture connotation around 2000 to a subcultural nostalgic aesthetic.By weakening the historical background of Y2 K and deconstructing the public's imagination about the computer risks of millennial culture, the nostalgic aesthetic has produced the visibility of Y2 K culture and reconstructed it into a cultural symbol. In the context of nostalgia, multiple subjects jointly participate in the process of writing and practicing the connotation of Y2 K culture around this nostalgic culture, shaping the collective memory of Y2 K culture through memory as record, memory as obligation, memory as entertainment, and memory as distance, and influencing the specific way of practicing nostalgic culture. In the media practice of nostalgia, the active use of current technology to preserve, reproduce or reconstruct the media aesthetics of the past is an important part of the practice of nostalgic culture, creating a space for cultural memory preservation and interaction in the form of establishing digital archives on the one hand, while using contemporary technology to simulate or reproduce the media aesthetics of the past and accommodating people's emotions for the past era with digital technology. As a digital remedy for the media aesthetics of the past, technological nostalgia practice provides a buffer space between the "old" and "new" media environments, and offers people a chance to return to the "traditional" way of life in a highly technological media space. It provides a buffer between the "old" and "new" media environments, offering a return to "traditional" ways of living and feeling in a highly technological media space. The study finds that: 1.different eras have reconstructed the imagination of Y2 K culture through different discourse narratives;2.in the interactive and performative space, individuals and media memory work together to complete Y2 K memory and push it toward collective memory;3.in terms of practice, the intervention of technology in nostalgia is a new way of nostalgia in cyberspace.
