Children's museum is an institution established to enrich children's knowledge,develop children's intelligence and cultivate children's moral standards.Compared with traditional museums,children's museums emphasize more on hands-on participation,interactive experience and other modes,so that children experience their own situation to visit and learn.The most prominent function of children's museum is education function,and education activity is one of the main ways to reflect education function.In the world,especially in the United States,children's museums have become one of the learning bases of early education and an important part of extracurricular learning.At present,there are only four children's museums in China,which are at a stage of development in both quantity and quality.There are few researches on the educational activities of children's museums in the following aspects: Such as the specific content of educational activities in children's museum.How to plan and carry out educational activities.How to achieve the purpose of children's education.This paper chooses children's museum education activities to study,mainly discusses the following three aspects: Firstly,the definition of children's museum,and the difference between other museums.Secondly,the representative cases of educational activities of children's museums in China and the United States are summarized.Thirdly,according to the case experience summarized above,this paper discusses how China children's museum can effectively learn from the educational activities of American children's Museum.There are four parts in this paper.The first part,describes the research background,significance,content,methods,and the concept of children's Museum,what is the difference and connection with other museums.The second part analyzes and studies the excellent educational activities of American children's museum.The third part,introduces the educational activities of four Chinese children's museums.Find out the strong points and the not enough.The fourth part,through the comparison between the Chinese and American,think out the shortages of Chinese educational activities.In the last part,it puts forward how to learn from foreign excellent cases to improve and perfect the educational activities of children's museums in China and put forward suggestions for the future development of educational activities.
