In recent years,with the rapid development of mobile Internet technology and5 G technology as well as the popularity of mobile intelligent terminals,short video platforms represented by Tik Tok have become an important channel for people to receive information and watch videos,which is undoubtedly a huge impact and challenge for TV media.To this end,TV media actively conform to the trend of The Times,take the initiative to make use of the advantages of short video communication,promote the integration of development,and achieve its own media evolution and improvement.In 2018,TV media began to enter the short video platform and release short videos related to the content of TV programs on the platform.This paper takes the "JSTV" created in Tik Tok by JSTV,as the research object,and the short video collection "The Masked Singer" released by it as the specific research sample.Under the framework of "theory of media evolution",this paper discusses the advantages of the short video communication of "The Masked Singer",and provides suggestions for improvement in view of the existing shortcomings.Through the research on the short video collection of "The Masked Singer" of "JSTV",it is found that it presents its own characteristics in terms of the release scale and the release content.In combination with Paul Levinson's "theory of media evolution",this paper objectively examines and evaluates the features of this short video collection from three aspects: "remedial media","anthropotropic" and "three stages of media evolution--toy,mirror and art".This paper holds that in terms of "remedial media",the short video of "The Masked Singer" makes up for the deficiency of TV programs.In the aspect of "anthropotropic",the short video communication adapts to the humanization demand of the audience.But in the aspect of "three stages of media evolution--toy,mirror and art",the short video communication is not a perfect "art",and there are also some shortcomings,which are mostly common in the short video communication of current TV variety shows.Therefore,TV variety shows represented by JSTV's "The Masked Singer" need to make corresponding improvements in the transmission of short videos,so as to obtain new opportunities and new life in the current media convergence development.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter summarizes the course of new media convergence and short video communication of TV media in China and explains the research background of this paper.The second chapter,referring to the media frame theory of Entman and Gannam,analyzes the characteristics of "The Masked Singer" short video collection of "JSTV" from two aspects of release scale and release content.The third,the fourth and the fifth chapters,based on the phenomenon and characteristics of the second chapter,explore the advantages and disadvantages of the short video communication of "The Masked Singer" from the three core viewpoints of the theory of media evolution,namely "remedial media","anthropotropic" and "three stages of media evolution--toy,mirror and art".In the last chapter,according to the shortcomings of "The Masked Singer" short video of "JSTV",some suggestions are put forward for the development of short video communication of Chinese TV variety shows in the future.
