After Polar code was first proposed,it immediately became one of the hot spots in the international communication science community.Since it has been proven to be the largest in terms of channel capacity,this is undoubtedly a breakthrough in the field of channel coding,and it is destined to be widely used in the communications field in the future.In addition,because of its concise and clear recursive coding structure,it has a unique advantage over other coding methods in terms of compatibility with hardware-level design.It is precisely because of the above advantages that it has been selected as a 5G standard protocol for control channel coding.But now 5G has just entered the commercial stage,and it is not even fully popularized,so there are only a few baseband chips on the market for the realization of the hardware level.This article will design and verify the Polar codec based on a new type of 5G baseband chip.This article introduces the coding and decoding principles of polarization codes.And in order to implement the codec theory in hardware,this article designs and verifies the codec based on the 5G mobile communication chip standard.Unlike the previous codecs,the encoder designed in this article achieves 8-bit parallel encoding in terms of encoding.In addition,the decoder implements a self-check function during the decoding process,and the decoding can be terminated early.Finally,this paper verifies the correctness of the function and performance of the codec.The main work of this paper is as follows:1)The research background of the subject is described,and then the Polar code is briefly described and its research significance is pointed out.Finally,a detailed description of the technology and hardware research status of the Polar code is given.2)It mainly describes the coding principle of Polar code in detail.Describes the basic principles of channel polarization,expands the process of channel polarization,and introduces the processes and principles of channel union and channel splitting respectively,and clearly demonstrates the polarization phenomenon with dot plots and histograms to confirm The theoretical characteristics of channel polarization are described.Then it introduces three measurement methods of Pap parameters,density evolution,and Gaussian approximation,which can be used to estimate reliability for different channel scenarios,and introduces their inference process,usage method and scope of application in detail.3)Various decoding algorithms and optimization algorithms for Polar codes are described in detail.The BP(Belief Propagation)decoding algorithm,which is currently applied to a variety of encoding methods,is the most widely used and has excellent comprehensive performance.Although it does not perform as well as before on Polar codes,it has also started to correct Development of decoding algorithm based on Polar code structure.Subsequently,the SC(Successive Cancellation)decoding algorithm that is most suitable for the Polar code structure is explained in detail and the simplified method is described,and the principle of the new decoding algorithm based on it for performance optimization is also introduced.Finally,compared with the SC decoding algorithm,the SCL(Successive Cancellation List)decoding algorithm,which has a huge innovation and performance breakthrough,and the CA-SCL(CRC-Aided Successive Cancellation List)decoding algorithm with added redundancy check,are carried out.A detailed introduction.4)The design and verification of Polar encoder are described in detail.First,the design benchmark of the encoder is introduced,and the detailed process of preprocessing the input sequence based on 5G scenarios is explained.Then the design structure and performance standards of the encoder are explained in detail,and finally the parallelism is 8 Under the premise,the encoder has been verified to ensure that its function and performance meet the expected requirements.5)The design and verification of Polar decoder are described in detail.First,the design structure and performance standards of the decoder are explained,and the LLR calculation module,PM calculation module,sorting module,and ET module are respectively shown in detail.After that,the encoder is verified and displayed through the waveform diagram.As well as the verification coverage display,it proved that the performance and function of the decoder meet the expected requirements.The whole thesis has completed the design and verification of the codec,and the encoder has completed the design of the generator matrix building module,calculation module,control module,etc.,and verified its functions;the decoder has completed the calculation module and sorting module,The design of the control module,and its function has been verified.Through the work of the paper,the expected effect is successfully achieved,that is,the encoder and decoder realize 8 parallel processing,and the self-check function is added to the decoder to reduce the bit error rate.
