Research On The Influence Mechanism Of Technology Affordances On Digital Innovation And Innovation Performance

Digital innovation refers to the innovation mode in which different subjects conduct product research and development and commercialization through reorganizing digital resources,and generate new products,services,processes and business models through this activity,thus creating value.At present,digital innovation plays an important role in all kinds of organizations,such as enterprises and communities of innovation practice.Digital technology is a combination of information,computing,communication and connectivity technologies,including big data,cloud computing,blockchain,artificial intelligence,virtual reality technology and so on.It is the representative of a new generation of information technology.How to make use of the affordances of digital technology to realize organizational innovation has become a research hotspot.Among them,technology affordances refers to the action possibility of a specific action subject using a specific technology to achieve its goal.At present,there are few empirical studies on the influence mechanism of IT affordances on digital innovation performance.To solve this problem,this paper,based on technology affordances theory and Schumpeter innovation theory,empirically studies the influence mechanism of IT affordances on digital innovation and its performance.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The conceptual connotation and dimension of technology affordances are sorted out,and the related studies of technology affordances are summarized,including the influencing factors and consequences of technology affordances.(2)This paper sorts out the conceptual connotation and feasible measurement methods of digital innovation,and sorts out relevant researches on digital innovation,especially the influencing factors and value creation of digital innovation.Based on the problems studied in this paper,digital innovation is defined,and the corresponding construct measurement methods are explored.Formal questionnaire was formed through the pre-survey of the scale.(3)Based on the theory of technology affordances and Schumpeter innovation theory,in view of the assumption,in the Yangtze River Delta,the Pearl River Delta and Beijing-TianjinHebei region intelligent products manufacturing enterprises as the research object,through We Chat,E-mail and Internet platform to collect samples of the questionnaire data of the enterprise,and collects 346 valid questionnaires,using SPSS for IT hope to influence the process of digital innovation mechanism has carried on the empirical regression analysis.The results show that IT affordances has a significant positive impact on firm innovation performance.The IT affordances has a significant positive impact on digital innovation,among which the collaboration affordances,organizational memory affordances and process management affordances have a significant positive impact on digital innovation.Digital innovation has a significant positive impact on the firm's innovation performance,in which both design reorganization and use reorganization have a significant positive impact on the firm's innovation performance.Digital innovation plays a mediating role in IT affordances and firm innovation performance.Based on the research conclusions of this paper,several theoretical inspirations are obtained,and several management inspirations are provided for manufacturing enterprises to effectively use digital technology to realize digital innovation: organic combination of digital strategy and innovation strategy;overall consideration is given to design reorganization and use reorganization.Finally,the limitations of this paper and the prospect of future research are put forward.
