With the continuous development of wireless communication systems,the system is evolving in the direction of miniaturization and higher power.Passive devices with multi-functional integration are widely used in the front-end of wireless radio systems due to high integration,multi-function,and compact structure.Self-diplexing antennas can combine the functions of the duplexer and the antenna,reducing the size of the system while enabling the antenna to have a duplex function;dielectric resonator antenna(DRA)is also widely used in antenna design due to small size and broadband characteristics.Thus,the research of self-diplexing DRA in this paper is mainly based on the mode of DRA,using antenna mode analysis theory and combining loading technology to complete the design of compact and broadband self-diplexing DRA.The content of this article is summarized as follows:First,by analyzing the mode of the rectangular DRA,two mutually orthogonal modesTE?11x-mode andTE1?1y-mode are excited separately,effectively suppressing the coupling between the two ports and obtaining a rectangular self-diplexing medium with high isolation DRA.Then,based on the analysis of the cylindrical dielectric resonator mode,theHEM11?-mode andTM02?-mode are excited respectively.Besides,the filtering stub is introduced in this work to suppress the parasitic of theHEM11?-mode in the high frequency band.Finally,a cylindrical self-duplex dielectric resonator antenna with high isolation is realized.Two designs are tested to verify the feasibility of the two designs.Second,through the analysis of the half mode ofTE?11x-mode of the rectangular DRA mode,loading metal pillars are adopted to adjust the frequency of the antenna without changing the size.Besides,by exciting the dielectric bodies on both sides of the electric wall separately,the two sides of the antenna are able to work in the half-mode mode,and thus obtaining a half-mode rectangular self-duplex DRA.Moreover,low metal pillar loading is used for decoupling,which improves the isolation.In the high-frequency band,an additional resonance point is obtained based on the mode coupling theory,broading the bandwidth of the antenna.In this paper,by analyzing the DRA mode,four self-diplexing DRAs with multiple functions are realized,which provides a new direction for the design of self-diplexing antennas.In addition,the broadband characteristics of the DRA enable the proposed design to be widely applied in future communication systems.
