Research On The Impact Of Import Trade On The Development Of China’s Integrated Circuit Industry

In the process of economic and social modernization,integrated circuits are recognized as the power system of the information technology revolution.However,for a long time,China’s IC industry has continued to import a large number of products and introduce technology.The dependence on product imports remains high,and the technology introduction fee is also on the rise.The theory proves that both imported products and imported technologies will have positive and negative effects on the development of the integrated circuit industry.Studying the impact of imports on the development of the integrated circuit industry will help China transform its economic development mode,adjust the information industry structure,and safeguard national security.Therefore,this paper sorts out the influence mechanism of imports on the development of integrated circuit industry,empirically studies the causes and influences of imported products and imported technologies on the integrated circuit industry,and puts forward corresponding suggestions,which has certain practical significance.In order to study the impact of imports on the development of integrated circuit industry,paper then conduct an empirical analysis.The steps of empirical analysis are as follows:(1)Evaluate the development level of the integrated circuit industry and calculate the evaluation scores of China’s IC industry development.(2)Conduct an empirical test from the two aspects of product import and technology introduction.The empirical results show that(1)imported products can promote the development of China’s integrated circuit industry.Importing new products can stimulate new consumer demand,promote competition among domestic enterprises,and the technology spillover of imports has also promoted the R&D and innovation;(2)The introduction of technology has inhibited the development of China’s IC industry.The current technology introduction often occurs within multinational companies,resulting in a virtual scale of technology introduction.Due to the fragmentation,each enterprise is prone to repeated introductions and lack of planning.After the introduction of technology,enterprises are easy to ignore and absorb,so it is difficult to achieve secondary innovation.Finally,based on the theoretical analysis and empirical results,combined with the actual situation of China’s integrated circuit industry,this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to further exert the positive impact of imported products on the development of integrated circuit industry and weaken the negative impact of imported technology on the development of integrated circuit industry.
