Research On Student User Anxiety In University Library

Library user anxiety refers to the psychological state of users who are unable to solve various problems in the process of using the library,which is one of the main reasons affecting the use of the library.With the development of intelligent service in university libraries,it not only brings convenience to users' resource acquisition,but also brings trouble to student users due to the complexity of technology and other factors.These troubles cause certain psychological barriers to college students' use of library and even affect their use of library.Therefore,the anxiety of college library users has become a research issue in the library academia.According to the existing research,the current research on the anxiety of university library users mainly investigates the relationship between the influencing factors and the anxiety of library users.Moreover,these researches mostly test the subjects by using scales rather than investigating the real opinions of users on the spot.In view of this,this study takes Zhengzhou University Library as an example.From the perspective of user perception,a questionnaire on the anxiety of university library students is prepared through interviews and literature research to investigate the current situation,characteristics,causes and influence of university library students' anxiety,and some suggestions are excepted to alleviate the anxiety of university library student users.Research shows: more than half of the students at the Zhengzhou University Library have experienced library user anxiety,which is mainly characterized by confusion,irritability and strangeness.Users' own factors,such as students' learning years,personality tendency,acceptance of user education,familiarity with the library,impressions of the library and initial use of library are correlated with students' anxiety.The factors of university library are mainly reflected in the aspects of library environment,library resources,library system and librarians.Among them,library resources have the greatest impact on library user anxiety.The anxiety of university library student users will have a negative impact on the subsequent use of libraries and the development of libraries.Based on the research results,this paper puts some suggestions to alleviate the anxiety of university library student users from the aspects of improving library resources construction,optimizing library environment setting,improving library management system,improving librarians' service ability and improving users' information literacy.
