The use of millimeter-wave radiation energy of air targets to detect air targets is a novel detection method.This paper focuses on the millimeter wave radiation characteristics of air targets and the detection methods of air targets.The main research contents include:(1)Two passive detection models of ground-based and spaceborne platform radiometers for air targets were established,and the radiation characteristics of air targets were studied.The radiation characteristics of stealth materials were analyzed,the 3D models of typical stealth bomber targets were built to perform fluid simulation on the target body and tail flame by ANSYS FLUENT.The radiation temperature of the target body and tail flame were analyzed;(2)The millimeter wave propagation model(MPM)and the atmospheric layered transmission model were used to study the millimeter wave transmission characteristics of the atmosphere.The atmospheric attenuation coefficient,the total attenuation of the atmospheric propagation path,and the radiant brightness temperature of the atmosphere were calculated and analyzed.The background brightness temperature of the atmosphere under different weather conditions was studied,and the apparent brightness temperature change of the radiometer antenna caused by the radiant brightness temperature of the target propagating through the atmospheric path was calculated;(3)The simulation system software for passive detection of air targets based on the millimeter-wave passive detection model was designed,including the simulation of the target's radiation characteristics,atmospheric transmission characteristics,and the radiometer's detection effectiveness of the target.The relationship between the detection distance of radiometer and its parameters based on the simulation system was explored;(4)The millimeter wave passive detection external field test of air targets was carried out.The test results verified the feasibility of millimeter wave passive detection of air targets and the effectiveness of the passive detection model.
