Inspirational books emerged in the 1980 s and 1990 s.Starting from the introduction of the book "The Weakness of Human Nature" by Dell Carnegie,followed by "The World's Greatest Salesman","Who Moved My Cheese",Liu Yong's "Trilogy",Zhang Defen's "Mind Trilogy" A series of inspirational classics set off a frenzy in the Chinese market.Chinese industry scholars began to pay attention and research on the reasons for the rise of inspirational books and the characteristics of publication in 2003.As inspirational books have become a publishing hotspot,their concept is no longer limited to the study of successful life,and a variety of categories are derived based on their subject matter,content,and author.Behind the boom,but also inevitably a lot to follow suit,duplicate publishing phenomenon.As a result,researches involving the concept,characteristics,topic selection,harm,root causes,and strategies of homogenization are becoming more abundant.However,the research perspective is single and comprehensive research is lacking.Meanwhile,in recent years,inspirational books have been gradually subdivided into areas such as economic management inspiration,women's inspiration,and youth inspiration.The homogeneity problem still exists,but related research has stagnated.The in-depth and interpretation of the issue of homogeneity should also be updated in time with the times.Therefore,studying the homogeneity of inspirational books still has practical significance.This article takes the inspirational books published in the past ten years from 2011 to2020 as the research object,uses theories of editing and publishing and other disciplines,and uses literature research,case analysis,and survey statistical methods to analyze the current situation,harm,main cause of the homogenization of inspirational books and to put forward feasible solutions.The homogeneity of inspirational books is mainly reflected in the homogeneity of content,and the essence is the lack of innovation.The author holds a critical attitude towards the research on the phenomenon of book homogeneity.The main reason for the phenomenon of homogeneity is that the publishing regulations and ideas are based on economic benefits,and the weight is not on quality.Publishers forget the mission of publishing and the original intention of editors,and authors lack corresponding institutional mechanisms to provide scientific research support.The phenomenon of book homogeneity not only wastes publishing resources,but also damages the rights and interests of readers.The author believes that the country should actively promote innovation in the cultural industry,deepen thematic publishing,and promote publishing to go global;the publishing industry should actively realize the operability of the social benefit assessment mechanism,focus on content quality,and create high-quality books;publishing talents should stick to academic ideals,plan high-quality topics and lead classic reading.Through the analysis of the homogeneity phenomenon of inspirational books,it can clarify the direction of the current inspirational book publishing work,and can provide experience and lessons for other types of books to avoid the homogeneity phenomenon,which is conducive to the healthy and long-term development of the publishing industry as a whole.
