The Meaning Of "Female Photo" : Mythological Analysis Of Xiaohongshu App

With the development of The Times and the change of social ideas,the female image gradually gets rid of the original family subordinate status and the "second sex" status as the male subordinate status,and presents the characteristics of diversification.Influenced by previous cultural concepts and aesthetics,the symbols of female photos have been solidified and interpreted in a single and outdated way,inevitably immobilized and stereotypical.However,with the rise of online communities,they have presented new connotation changes.Xiaohongshu App is a social platform with wide influence and high user participation in recent years.The topics it discusses are mostly related to life and attracted the attention of women,thus becoming a social platform with great influence nowadays.The user in this plat based on common topics under the pictures and words to show the main consumption of exchange of experience,share and goods display and promote the content such as the fragmentation of creation,under the share topics,Xiaohongshu APP has become a large community of network culture,female photos also have become an important part of the exchange and transmission in it.Guided by Roland Barthes’ mythological thoughts,this paper explores the new features of female images in online communities.Select 219 female image samples from this APP,analyze the image information features by means of content analysis and participatory observation,and study the new meaning of female images in modern consumer culture and female culture by using the method and theory of mythological analysis proposed by Roland Barthes.Through research and analysis found that there were because of self-loathing,anxiety,aesthetic and consumer culture women images of construction under the influence of myth,and found a female images under the network culture dominant desensitization and using exaggerated rhetoric chasing flow interests gradually,at the same time,contemporary women do the opposite based on the "male gaze,",the male gaze into the content of the examination on the creation in order to enhance the attraction of the content creation.On this basis,this paper further analyzes the connotation of female images in Xiaohongshu APP and finds that the current image symbol expression has the characteristics of compound,utilitarian,different meanings of the symbol and the meanings,and discusses the factors affecting the construction of female image myth brought about by body symbols and community culture.
