An Empirical Study On Public Perception Of Library Occupations

The professional image of library is the carrier of library industry and the communicator of information resources between books and users.Their impression in the mind of the public is not only an important factor to determine and change the effect of communication,but one of the ways to enhance and improve the reputation of mass communication.In a sense,library professional cognition reflects the impression of the outside on the library industry.For a long time,whether the status and image of library profession in the eyes of the public are changing quietly,how to understand the image of library profession in the eyes of the public? What ways should the library profession adopt to improve its impression in the mind of the public? Whether these questions can provide certain reference for the construction of library occupation,and take targeted strategies to promote the construction of library occupation,it is these questions that give birth to this study,namely,the purpose of this study.Based on the theory of public career cognitive analysis of the library career in detail,to the public as the research object,through questionnaire investigation and research of the library career cognitive,according to the questionnaire survey results show that:(1)the social public library vocational qualification certification is a lack of unified understanding of;(2)the public began to pay attention to the interaction with the library;(3)the social public to the attention of the construction of the library space;(4)the library professional for the social public have a certain professional appeal;(5)a positive shift library professional image.In view of the above survey results,centering on the core idea of library occupation construction,this paper puts forward corresponding strategies from three different perspectives,namely,government,library and users.First of all,policies should be put first.In the construction of the current public cultural service system,measures should be further implemented centering on the core guiding ideology.Secondly,libraries should according to policy guidance,improve system construction,integrate resources,enhance professional advantages and strengthen intelligent services,so as to promote the construction of library profession.Finally,it focuses on user engagement and experience,understands user needs through various ways,strengthens user awareness,integrates third-party evaluation mechanism,and improves the public's activity and recognition of the library by multiple means to form a good interactive mechanism.
