A Study On The Social Changes Of Kongbai Village From The Perspective Of Miao Silver Jewelry Media

The Miao people are very fond of silver jewelry.Kongbai Village,Leishan County,Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture,Guizhou Province,is famous as the "No.1 Village for Silversmiths in China".In the early 1980s,Kongbai village became known as the "floating silversmith",and every household was making silver.However,with the implementation of the reform,the rapid development of the national economic level and tourism market is like a wave of impact on the traditional Miao villages,and the economy,culture and social life of Kongbai Village have undergone great changes.Thesis mainly adopts qualitative research methods,through on-the-spot investigation,including participant observation,depth interview,such as collecting research data,to control in Kongbai Village as the research object,from the Angle of miao silver entity medium,with silver in miao's daily life,worship life,present and changes in consumer market for introduction,Different elements such as people,technology,capital and culture are sorted out to present the multi-dimensional significance of silver ornaments in the silversmith village.It is found that the significance of witchcraft,strengthening one's body,wealth,and attachment is reduced,while the significance of decoration and inter-generational emotional inheritance is enhanced.The ethnic cultural characteristics contained in silver jewelry are reduced and the fusion of the mainstream mass culture has taken place.Silver jewellery has changed from a symbol of ethnic identity to a souvenir of personal experience.To explore the correlation between silver jewelry and the social changes of silversmiths village reflects the change of livelihood mode from traditional agricultural production to silver jewelry processing.Kongbai silver jewelry products from local ethnic areas to all over the country,market expansion,sales model upgrade,production technology progress changes;With the help of the government,enterprises and individuals,Miao silver jewelry and Miao culture spread to the outside world.In the end,the paper focuses on the future development of silver jewelry in Kongbai Village.Under the dual advantages of intangible cultural heritage protection and the development of tourism by the local government,whether the hand-made silver jewelry can continue to be inherited and whether Kongbai can move back to develop the village with the help of tourism is a problem that needs to be continued to be considered.
