This study mainly explores two questions: First, does the teacher support perceived by students influence their behavioral engagement in online learning? Second, what is the relationship between teacher support and students' engagement in learning behavior in online learning? This study based on the teachers support related theory and its connotation will support divided into professional support and emotional support two dimensions, based on promoting students' learning behavior in the purpose of design, interpretation, questioning the diagnosis, guide and encourage criticism and six support strategies and learning small measure, provide personalized guidance and push preview courseware eight specific way of teachers' support. The dimension of professional support includes diagnostic strategy, explanation strategy, prompt strategy and guidance strategy, and the dimension of emotional support includes encouragement strategy and criticism strategy.A 12-week quasi-experimental study was carried out by taking Advanced Language Programming as an example of the freshman course of Educational Technology Major in S University of Shenyang. The intervention week and observation week were six weeks respectively, and each day was taken as the unit of time.Twenty-three learning behavior data including students' visits, average task completion rate and average video watching time were recorded,as well as eleven teacher support tables including the time, type, content and effect level of the intervention provided by teachers.Data were used to quantitatively analyze the differences between the three types of learning behavior input:participation, persistence and interaction before and after intervention.Meanwhile, the correlation between the six strategies supported by teachers and the types of participation, persistence, interaction and their sub-dimensions was analyzed. The results show that the interaction types and participation types of students' behavioral engagement have significant differences before and after intervention, and teachers' guiding strategies, prompting strategies, explaining strategies and encouraging strategies have significant positive correlation with students' behavioral engagement in learning. The results of the study provide optimization suggestions for front-line teachers to implement support strategies and open up a new path to improve the quality of online learning.
