Research On The Ethical Construction Of Health Narratives In Social Media

Narrative is one of the means by which people live.People express themselves,transmit information and spread knowledge through narratives,and establish social relationships in narratives.People live in narrative,and the meaning and function of narrative also have a reactionary force on the subject of narration.With the empowerment of Internet technology,more and more entities have platforms and opportunities to speak out and tell stories.Health narratives through social media platforms are one of the media phenomena worthy of attention.Health narratives are becoming more and more common,and the discussions caused by health narratives are quite different between different social media platforms.Some members of the public are skeptical of the authenticity of the health narrative content,and hold negative views on the rationality of the narrative behavior itself,which may trigger online violence and may even form a Tacitus trap in the field of health topics.When health narrators in social media are generally distrusted by people,the real cry for help becomes weak.The reason is that health narrative,as a special narrative discourse,involves the most basic human survival issues.It is easy to cause controversy on the motivation of the narrative subject,the authenticity of the narrative content,and the influence on the recipient of the narrative.Therefore,in the era of social media,how to conduct health narratives,how to make health narratives benefit and avoid disadvantages,and play an active role,the ethical construction of health narratives should be put on the agenda.Among the many health narrative discourses,the We Chat Official account "Guokr Patient" is one of the few narrative subjects with positive reviews.The "Guokr Patient",who was founded less than a year ago,wrote in the first article that the Guokr patient is committed to understanding the disease,defending himself,and helping others by telling about the disease.Facts have proved that the "Guokr Patient" has gained a good reputation through health narratives while adhering to principles and continuously improving the quality of content.Starting from the necessity of the construction of social media health narrative ethics,this paper selects a representative We Chat official account in social media as the research platform,takes the We Chat official account "Guokr patient" as the research object,and uses the relevant narrative materials released by it as the research platform.The research sample uses classic narratology and narrative ethics as the theoretical basis and framework,and uses online ethnography,content analysis,text analysis and case analysis to analyze the current situation and anti-ethical behaviors of health narratives in China's social media through in-depth analysis of the narrative strategy of the We Chat public account "Guokr Patient",From the three aspects of narrative media,narrative subject and narrative acceptance,it puts forward the basic principles that should be followed in the construction of healthy narrative ethics in social media in our country,and constructs a basic theoretical framework.The study found that the health narrative strategies of "Guokr Patients"can be summarized as:rational expression,multiple intervention strategies;authenticity and reliability strategies;integrity and continuity strategies;facing the masses and emphasizing the minority strategies.The basic principles that should be followed in the construction of social media health narrative ethics:narrative media should adhere to fairness and justice;narrative subjects should actively construct authenticity;narrative acceptance should be exchanged on an equal footing and friendly consultations.On this basis,a trinity theoretical framework of communication ethics,narrative ethics and doctor-patient ethics is formed.Finally,if we want to further promote the construction of health narrative ethics,we must not only improve media literacy at the practical level,but also carry out national health education;by making up for defects in health knowledge,eliminating disease metaphors,and forming a healthy concept of self-love,altruism,and respect for doctors.
