In recent years,short video application represented by TikTok has been extremely popular.Almost everyone is more or less,actively or passively involved in the wave of TikTok.Using TikTok and shooting TikTok has become an indispensable part of daily life.Even some parents who previously hated "Internet addicted teenagers" for iron and steel are intoxicated all day long.They often forward their TikTok videos to "Blind Dates".Love the family" in the group.This article uses Owen Goffman's drama theory as a perspective to analyze the types and motivations of TikTok users' self-presentation,and explore the charm of TikTok.The research combines in-depth interviews and online ethnography.While conducting in-depth interviews with 15 TikTok users,the author also conducts in-depth interviews with other users on the TikTok platform through likes,comments,videos,and live broadcasts.Friendly interaction,get the most real feelings.The research is mainly carried out from the following negative aspects.First,in the introduction part,the background,purpose and significance of the question raised are explained.Through combing the drama theory and the related literature on TikTok it is found that there are few researches on the application of the drama theory in the context of mobile Internet,and the research on TikTok It tends to focus on live broadcasts and other aspects,and there is less analysis of user groups;the second part introduces TikTok as a new stage of self-presentation,its basic composition and user types;the third part discusses the strategy of impression management.It discusses in detail how TikTok users use various techniques to optimize impression management;the fourth part discusses the development trend of self-presentation,how this self-presentation has changed from the traditional media era to the mobile Internet era;The fifth and sixth parts respectively explore the motivation and influence of self-presentation;the last part summarizes the research conclusions of this article and points out the shortcomings.The rise of short video application such as TikTok has brought people a new stage of performance.Compared with the traditional theater field mentioned by Goffman,the front and back areas of self-presentation on the TikTok platform have undergone new changes,and the skills of impression management have also been changed.Develop with the help of the platform.Although they are both TikTok users,each person's degree of involvement is different,and the form of self-presentation is also very different.Different users have different states of self-presentation,and the same user in the front and rear areas is also the same.For these self-presented states,this article will elaborate on the TikTok platform.
