Multifunctional phased array has attracted a lot of attention,because of its ability to control radiation pattern.The technology in the military field can track and guide one or more moving targets.In the civil field,the beam can be adjusted to aim at the target user's direction,and the null can be adjusted to aim at the interference direction according to the user's needs,so as to realize the intelligent communication.Compared with the traditional omnidirectional antenna,it has many advantages.However,phased array can't cover each angle as an omnidirectional antenna,due to poor radiation performance in wide-angle beam scanning.In addition.the control system is complex and expensive,which restricts the development of array.In this context,we focus on the application of multifunctional phased arrays based on dielectric resonator antenna,and we have achieved a number of innovations.The main work is introduced as follows:1.We introduce the research progress of pattern reconfigurable antenna,wide-angle beam scanning and unconventional array.It is classified and summarized,the advantages and disadvantages of the work are pointed out.Then we introduce the basic knowledge of dielectric resonator antenna,phased array and intelligent algorithm(artificial fish swarm algorithm),which pointed out the research prospects and laid the theoretical foundation for the antenna design later.2.A pattern reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna based on mode synthesis is proposed.By superposing two different modes and controlling the phase of two ports,E-plane tilted patterns are synthesized with ±66°?which lays a foundation for array design.3.A pattern reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna with 360° continuous beam switching is proposed.The antenna can control the beam to rotate 360° along the Z axis.4.Based on the dielectric resonator antenna,a 4-element multifunctional phased array is proposed.The array can achieve wide angle beam scanning of ±80° with 3dB BW coverage of more than ±100° and stable gain.The application of the pattern reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna in the phased array proves its superiority.In addition,the system is compared with the traditional array system.The artificial fish swarm algorithm is used to verify that the proposed system has smaller mean square error and better performance in beamforming.
