Ultra-wideband electronically scanned arrays with high efficiency,excellent polarization agility,and wide-scan matching remain essential for servicing multifunctional RF front-ends and other communications,sensing,and jamming or countermeasure systems.To this day,the most popular antenna array element is the Vivaldi,or flared notch,due to its superior widescan wide impedance bandwidth,well-known design guidelines,and practical embodiment versatility.This paper will flexibly use different Vivaldi antenna elements to design phased array antennas that meet different engineering requirements,demonstrating its superior engineering value.The main work of this paper is as follows:1.Research on widescan wide impedance bandwidth technology of tightly coupled metal Vivaldi phased array antenna.This paper will design an electrical scanning phased array antenna operating from 2GHz to 8GHz based on engineering requirements that elements spacing is 40 mm.In this project,in order to meet the high power requirements,we chose the metal Vivaldi antenna as the array antenna unit,and adopted the tightly coupled strategy to expand the low frequency working bandwidth of the antenna.To terminate the edges of the array,we handled it by loading passive elements at the edge of the array.The insertion of the baffles has considerably improved the performance of the array for scanning in the E plane.It is seen that for scan angles below ±45°,the VSWR for both H and E plane scan in the presence of metal baffles is quite good.2 Research on the technology of missile-borne multifunctional phased array antenna.This project firstly studied a compact antipodal Vivaldi antenna that can be used for wideband and wide scanning phased array antenna.Using this element,the evenly spaced 4×4 dual-polarized array antenna can basically meet the requirements of the project.However,we were not satisfied with this.In the same circular array aperture,the minimum gain was increased from 4.7dBi to 5.8dBi in the beam-scanninng range through the sparse antenna array.The number of array elements has been reduced from 16 to 8,the number of elements has been reduced by half,and the number of T/R components has been reduced by half,which greatly reduce production cost,the complexity of feed network design and array signal processing.At the same time,the element antenna can work independently to realize the direction finding function.
