Comparative Analysis Between Chinese And Foreign Museology

Based on the analysis of the periodicals of Chinese Museum and Museum International,the thesis investigates the authors of museological studies,the characteristics of research topics and their changing rules,and reveals the trend of museology at home and abroad.The first chapter Introduction introduces the development history of literature research on museology at home and abroad,focuses on the analysis of relevant literatures,and expounds the reasons for the topic selection,research methods,research objects and contents.The second chapter Analysis on authors presents the statistics of the research authors from the two journals,including the nationalities and the institutions they work for.It is to show that from 1984 to 2019,the research authors of museology at home and abroad are mainly the staff of museums.The research level of developed countries is stronger than that of developing countries.The third chapter Analysis on topics concerns the research topics of the two journals.It is found that the research topics attach more importance to applied museology than theoretical museology.The research trend is to pay more attention to cultural heritage and social development.The fourth chapter Analysis on similarities and differences dissects the reasons of similarities and differences between Chinese and foreign museological studies from the aspects of academic tradition,museum practice,social environment and linguistic elements.The fifth chapter Conclusion summarizes main results of the study and reflects on the research of Chinese museology.
