Analysis Of The Effect Of Review Papers On The Influence Of Academic Journals

Academic journals are the main carrier of academic exchange,and play an important role in promoting dissemination and communication of knowledge.To a certain extent,the influence of academic journals reflects the breadth and depth of the development of the disciplines,and represents the academic value of scientific research results.The influence evaluation of academic journals can promote healthy competition and sustainable development of journals,and improve the quality of running journals,which is of great significance to the academic development.There are many indicators for evaluating the influence of academic journals,mainly based on the number of citations and downloads.At present,studies on the influence of internal literature types on journals are seldomly available.The types of literature published in journals mainly include review papers and research papers,as well as newsletters,book reviews and corrections.Review papers have a strong feature,which can highly summarize the research background,development status and trends of a certain topic.They are also highly instructive for study and can meet the needs of researchers to a certain extent.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the influence of review papers on academic journals,to set up columns of journals,to improve the quality of running journals,and to guide readers to discover academic research paths.Based on previous studies,this research will combine the types of journal documents with the citations of the documents,take into account the author's h index,analyze the role of review documents in journals on the influence of journals,and study the differences in the role of review documents and research properties on the impact factors of journals in different subject areas.This research is mainly divided into five parts: Firstly,through the introduction part of the paper,it explains the purpose and significance of this research,the evaluation of domestic and foreign journals,the research status of review papers,and analyzes the deficiencies of the current research methods of review papers.Secondly,it introduces the relevant theories and analytical methods applied in this study,including literature research,comparative analysis,citation analysis,word frequency analysis and so on.The third and fourth parts are the core of this article,based on the research on the influence of review papers on academic journals.The third part takes the domestic academic journals in the field of library and information,history,and computer as examples.Obtain relevant journals and documents from CNKI,extract the citation frequency of relevant documents through citation search,use the revised influence factor calculation formula to calculate the journal impact factors of the above three subject areas after the review papers are removed,and compare the results before the review papers are removed Similar to the removal of journal impact factors before review papers,analysis of the effect of review papers on journal impact factors,and analysis of highly cited review papers,it is found that the contribution of review papers in library and information and computer journals to journal impact factor is basically positive,the review papers with high citation frequency all grasped the current research hotspot,and there is a correlation between the author h index and the total citation frequency of the author papers.The fourth part takes foreign academic journals in the field of library and information,history,and computer as examples,selects relevant journals and documents from Web of Science,counts the citation frequency of relevant documents through Journal Citation Reports,and uses the revised impact factor to calculate Formula,calculate and compare the journal impact factors of the above three subject areas before and after excluding review papers,researching the difference in the influence of review papers on domestic and foreign journals.The results show that the review papers of foreign journals in library and information field and computer field can improve the impact factor of the journals.Compared with the domestic journals,the review papers published in foreign journals are less,and the review papers of foreign journals in the three in foreign journals are cited more frequently.Finally,it summarizes the full text research,analyzes the deficiencies in the research,and proposes future research directions.Based on previous researches of review papers,this research proposes a method for calculating the contribution of review papers to impact factors of journals,and analyzes in detail the effect of review papers on academic journals in three subject areas domestic and abroad.Through comparative analysis,we find the difference between the review papers and the research papers on the impact factors of journals.
