A Study On Narrative Of People's Daily Tik Tok Short Video News

In this day and age,with the staggering steps of Internet technology and the comprehensive popularity of mobile smart terminals,the way audiences receive information has gradually shifted from traditional mass communication media to mobile short video platforms.Short video news is developing rapidly,and mainstream media has adopted Tik Tok as a new stage for news dissemination.People's Daily opened its Tik Tok account on September 10,2018.Based on the Tik Tok short video ecology service platform“Feigua Data” and“ New Rank Data”,the theories of news narrative,use and satisfaction theory are combined,and the Tik Tok account of People's Daily are taken as the research object.The content analysis method,and case study method are used in this paper to explore the content production mechanism of People's Daily Tik Tok short video news,including sources,methods and dissemination channels.As well,the narrative features including narrative content,narrative symbols,narrative structure,and interactive narrative participated by users are analyzed.The study found that typical characters,political views,social hotspots and heartwarming stories are used to promote positive social energy and the true,the good and the beautiful things of human beings.The narrative symbols consist of linguistic symbols such as headlines and subtitles and non-linguistic symbols such as pictures,audio and video,which achieve the goal of mobilizing users' various senses to the greatest extent.The narrative structure is characterized by the coexistence of unstructured,chronological and honeycomb structures.In terms of narrative features,it is characterized by fragmental,civilianized and emotional expression.From the perspective of interactive narrative,One of the main features of the short video news of People's Daily on Tik Tok lies in the participation of users,who can participate in the interaction by commenting,liking and sharing,etc.In the communication,users' needs for information and entertainment are satisfied,while their need for self-identification and belonging as well as the desire for expression and interaction are realized.Based on the above findings,it can be concluded that,in terms of narration,the narrative content of People's Daily Tik Tok short video news is various,narrative symbols are diversified,and narrative structure is simplified.In the meantime,as a short video news which is based on the Internet and social media,the People's Daily on Tik Tok encourages users to participate in creation and engage in information reproduction.By this wag,it makes full use of users' participation to amplify the result.
