Research On The Focal Points Of Foreign Library Strategic Planning

The strategic planning activities of enterprises have been widely used in the public sectors including libraries.In the 1970 s,the international library community began to pay attention to the research and practice of strategic planning.In the process of government regulation and its own attempts,Chinese libraries have gradually explored the development orientation and formed a series of planning achievements.Since the 21 st century,the development of library strategic research has experienced the process from the experience operation to the theoretical guidance and the single individual operation to the muti-organization cooperation and competition.The library strategic research has entered a new period of development.Foreign library industry is very mature.It has gone through a long period of development,and it has a keen sense of smell and positive reflection to the future development trend of library industry.Foreign library industry provides valuable theoretical and practical experience for domestic library strategy formulation.This paper is composed of introduction,text and conclusion.The text is divided into four parts.The first part analyses the basic problems of library strategic planning,the second part illustrates the text collection of strategic planning in the United States,Britain and Canada library,the third part analyse and summarizes the main content of library's strategic planning,the fourth part puts forward some inspirations for the future development and strategic planning of libraries in China.This paper analyzes the successful experience of foreign library strategic planning formulation.This paper discusses the enlightenment of foreign experience to Chinese library strategic planning formulation and research,which is helpful to the strategic development,reform and innovation of Chinese library.By the critical absorption and the exploration of Chinese strategic planning,library could gradually solve the problems existed in the strategic planning.Library will enrich the contents of the strategy of domestic library and expand the role of strategic planning in the library management and development.
