Sealing technology plays an important role in the industrial field. The sealing performance of oil seal directly determines whether the safety of mechanical equipment is reliable during use.Due to the particularity of oil seal structure and sealing mechanism, there are only slight differences in the structure of the same type of oil seal under different working conditions.Even different type of oil seal still have a lot of similar characteristics.A large number of icons and formulars need to be searched and calculated to determine the value of structural parameters when designing oil seal with traditional methods.Because there is no fixed design standard, designers usually use empirical method to determine the size of oil seal within a given range. This not only increases the difficulty of design, but also the sealing performance of oil seal is not effectively guaranteed. In addition, multiple modeling and analysis are required in the process of optimizing the structural parameters of oil seal.If manual modeling and analysis are still used, not only the workload is huge, but the optimization efficiency is also reduced. Therefore, the study of parametric design and analysis of oil seal is of great significance and value.Combining with the design theory of oil seal and parametric design theory, the parametric design and check process of rotary lip seal are introduced in detail, including the selection of the type and material of oil seal, the determination of structural parameters of oil seal and the check calculation of radial force. The sealing performance of rotary lip seal is analyzed based on finite element analysis technology. In the contact pressure analysis of oil seal.the whole process from the establishment of finite element model, meshing, setting of the boundary conditions to the setting of load are described in detail. In this thesis, the influence of oil seal parameters on contact pressure is studied. These parameters include interference of main lip, front lip angel, posterior lip angle, theoretical contact width and waist thickness.By analyzing the change of pumping rate, the influence of front lip angle, posterior lip angle and oil film width on dynamic sealing performance of oil seal are studied. The structural parameters of oil seal are optimized by orthogonal method based on the analysis result of sealing performance. On the premises of guaranteeing the experimental effect and efficiency, the proper orthogonal table is selected to design scheme.which takes the maximum contact pressure as the experimental index.According to the scheme.the combinalions of various structural parameters arc simulated and analyzed.and the results are analyzed by range analysis method. The optimal results of interference.tjeoretical contact width and waist thickness are determined?and the optimal values of front lip angle and posterior lip angle are preliminarily determined. Then, the optimal results of front lip angle and posterior lip angle are finally determined by further optimum selection, which consider the pumping rate as the experimental index. The optimization results are analyzed by specific example to verify the effectiveness of the methodTaking Visual Studio 2005 as the development platform, the parametric designof rotary lip seal is programmed based on the object-oriented design idea in C++ language. The whole contact pressure analysis process of rotary lip seal is programmed by APDL command in ANSYS,and it is called by main program to realize the function of contact pressure analysis module. Finally, the design and analysis functions are encapsulated to complete the development of parametric design and analysis system for rotary lip seal. The system has simple operation and strong portability.
