Mainstream communication uses statistical analysis methods to continuously give empirical universal judgments,and it falls into the trap of structural functionalism.Urban communication has inherited and developed the Chicago School's humanistic care and consideration of the space-time dimension,extended the understanding of the concept of communication to the dimension of human existence,and expanded the scope of the medium to the level of physical space,returning to the medium itself,not just information Content research.With the acceleration of China's urbanization process,cities have become the main living areas for people,but the problem of non-communication caused by urban heterogeneity is becoming more and more serious.People can't get high-quality communication only by the connection of technology.New urban problems such as individual loneliness,interpersonal indifference,and public conflict have become the phenomena that urban communication research needs to pay attention to.In the perspective of urban communication,this study regards the independent bookstore in the city as a spatial medium,studies its media functions and communication significance,and explores its "communicable" value in urban communication.The independent bookstore is different from the public cultural places built by the government.It has the spontaneity and creativity of the citizens.At the same time,because of the rich content of the book itself,the main constituent element of the independent bookstore,it has unique research value.The author investigated the independent bookstores in different cities through field visits,combined with in-depth interviews and online materials,and analyzed the collected data using rooted theory research methods to construct the "independent bookstore media function and urban communication model." Conceptual model.Afterwards,with the help of the ternary theoretical framework established by the author of "The Production of Space" Lefebvre,the "physical space,discourse space and living space" of the independent bookstore is used as the main axis of analysis to analyze the communication significance of the independent bookstore.Using critical theory,it analyzes the phenomenon of confrontation between consumption and culture in independent bookstores.Finally,from the concept of "communicative cities",the value of "communicable" of independent bookstores in urban communication was discussed.The study found that independent bookstores interact with cities and people,and cities and people can communicate through independent bookstores,and a multi-interactive communication model has been formed between the three.Independent bookstores influence the presence of people by creating an environmental atmosphere in the physical space,providing emotional value to people;providing spiritual value to people through the communication of words and ideas in the discourse space;promoting the culture in the city through the existence of entities and events The formation of the realm of life and the public domain of literature enables people to meet others and even events in philosophical concepts to form social value.In the city,an independent bookstore as a space medium can play its communicative value in urban communication by providing people with ways to explore interpersonal weak relationships,create broken-level communication opportunities,provide humanistic care,and inherit social traditions.
