This paper introduces the basic principle of remote smart office control System over long distance based on RS-485 ommunication Protocol.The system mainly includes PC serial port to create communication between the PC remote controller and the microcontroller through UART cable where both parts can send and receive data over long distance(up to 4000 ft),realizing long distance signal transmission.Furthermore,with the help of visual basic platform,this paper uses C language to program the microcontroller(pic16f960),and uses RS-232 to realize the serial connection between the PC remote controller and the microcontroller(pic16f960).Based on the above method,the user can easily read the data sent by the driver on the LCD module.In addition,this paper uses the operation principle of RS-485 to convert RS-232 signal into RS-485 signal for long-distance transmission.The receiver converts the RS-485 signal back to the original signal for the use of the single chip microcomputer,and then realizes the opening and closing of the user's remote-control office equipment.This paper studies the electrical performance of twisted pair cable used in RS-485.Compared with other cables,twisted pair cable has strong anti-interference ability and relatively low price.Through the test of the system prototype,the feasibility of the system theory is verified.
