With the continuous development of the Internet and the diversification of network services,the behavioral mechanisms and performance characteristics of the network have become increasingly complex,which has brought tremendous pressure on the transmission network.In this context,network performance has gradually become the focus of research.How to measure and optimize the performance of the transmission network has become a challenge for operators today and in the future.Since the evaluation of network performance is based on network measurement,the results of network measurement can be used as a reference for network performance.As a kind of network measurement technology,end-to-end performance measurement has become an important part of network system test technology research work.With the rapid development of IP-based network services,IP-based wireless access networks have become the biggest trend in network development,and IP RAN has emerged.The base station backhaul network IP RAN with IP/MPLS technology as the core and the router as the device can realize multi-service bearer,possess ultra-high bandwidth and higher Qo S guarantee.The more complex the network service,the stricter the requirements for network service quality and efficiency,so end-to-end performance measurement is essential.The Two-Way Active Measurement Protocol(TWAMP),which is an end-to-end bidirectional active measurement protocol developed by the IETF in 2008,defines a method for measuring the round-trip delay between any two devices supporting the protocol in the network.It is based on the development of OWAMP.Defines the separation of control protocol and measurement protocol,making this function more concise and flexible in actual deployment.This paper discusses the principle and mechanism of TWAMP function introduced in RFC5357,and studies the specific implementation scheme of TWAMP function based on IP RAN,establishes the overall scheme and logic flow,and elaborates the implementation of each module.The program is developed and verified on the Fiber Home communication IP RAN product equipment.The experimental results show that the scheme realizes the function of TWAMP for delay and delay jitter measurement,which is of great significance for the productization of this function.
